Thanks SC and Vix 🙂
After a good night's sleep, I do feel a lot better today. I was able to take the tree down and it's all packed away until next year.
We did vegetable stew in the slow cooker and we have enough for tea tomorrow as well. The rest of the day I have mostly been eating quality streets 😂
I'm thinking get all the bad food out the way this week, so I can start being good again in the new year.

Thanks Jess 🙂
Currently at my parents house dog sitting. I popped home to have the leftover stew for tea with DH, but my parents had bought me a pizza which is currently in the freezer, so I told them I would take it home as payment and we'll have it for tea tomorrow night.
As I've got some quiet time I'm going to have a look through the bills list and make sure everything is up-to-date so I can budget better.
Dog 1 had to go to the vets for a poorly eye and get some drops which was £85, but covered by Christmas money, but the vet said she could do with a scan for her heart murmur as she is now 9yo and may need medication for it. The scan will be £300 and the medication, we will have to see! She does have insurance, but I need to check the excess to see if it's worth claiming or not and then get her booked in in the new year.
I got my cervical screening letter today, so need to get myself booked in for that, Happy New year to me! 🙄😂Mortgage Balance as of July 2025 £14,900.

A bit of a rough night, I always find it difficult to sleep when not in my own bed, even if it is at my parents house. They have just had a new bathroom though (my mum needs more of a wet room now for accessibility) so I got to use the new shower this morning and it was very nice. They had a nice time away at a wedding and I got a free pizza out of dog sitting. They also left me a couple of breakfast muffins which I brought home and me and DH had egg muffins for brunch.
Had a bit of a nap then streamed a game this afternoon and made a bit of money from that. I'm going to stream a horror game tomorrow night for New Year's, which will be fun! 😂

Happy New Year! 🍾🎉
I had a good night streaming a horror game and got about £50 from it which will be paid out mid January and will be a nice little boost in the middle of the January blues. Streamed for a few hours today and got gifted a game from someone, which makes choosing the next one to play a lot easier!
I logged into the mortgage and after interest and the normal DD coming off the amount was £36,646.99, so I've made a small overpayment of £46.99 to round down to £36,600 (LTV 37%). The rest to make up my £500 overpayment per month will be done when I get paid on the 26th. I am also eligible to change my deal now, had a quick look and they're offering about 5.5% on the 5 year fixed rates, one with and one without a fee, which can be added to the mortgage or paid up front. Going to have a better look tomorrow with a fresh pair of eyes and see what other banks are offering, because I honestly have no idea if that's good or not! Happy new year Jess!
It sounds like you've had a lovely festive period (bar the COVID recovery). We were in Suffolk over Christmas too, lovely to see the sea again even if the weather was a bit blowy!
