I hated the whole "I'll come in if I feel ill" thing even before Covid. Mr VH goes in when he's feeling rough (no one really covers his role so he goes back to work piled up) and it drives me nuts. If I'm ill I'm off to bed, and sod my inbox."You won't bloom until you're planted" - Graffiti spotted in Newcastle.

Thank you all for the kind comments x
I am 95% better and was negative Sunday night and Monday morning so went back to work. When I filled out the return to work form we have to do after being off sick, I made a point of putting it down as work conditions and wrote that I wouldn't have been off if someone who had tested positive hadn't come in. When I took it to new boss to sign off he said he was glad I had done that and then showed me that he had done similar on his form!
I moved into the factory office with new boss Monday afternoon and am now doing my new job fulltime and the last couple of days have been great! I feel like a weight has been lifted and am sure the change of job role will make a huge difference to my mental health. It also helps that today was the last day and we are now off until 3rd January for Christmas 😀 The Christmas party is tonight, so I will start getting ready for that shortly. It won't be a long night as I have the dentist tomorrow at 9am, but I'm not going to turn down a buffet and some free drinks!Mortgage Balance as of July 2025 £14,900.

Yep, never a good look to be breathing stale booze breath over the dentist - there's only so much that mint can mask 🤣!
Glad you're feeling better, have a great time at the partyMortgage start: £65,495 (March 2016)

Thanks SC! 😀
A good night was had by all! No money spent as the buffet and drinks were free, I did feel a little rough this morning, but got through my dentist appointment and not back for another 6 months. £25 for the check up so can't complain.
The rest of today has been spent just chilling out. We've decided that once we've walked the dogs tomorrow morning, they'll have us up about 6am because although there's no alarm on to get up for work, the dogs still know what time it is, we will go straight to the supermarket for a shop. I wasn't able to get home delivery because of Christmas, so would rather get it done nice and early to avoid the crowds. We have a lot of the stuff we need for Christmas dinner, it's just the fresh veg and then some usuals to keep us going.
We also get paid tomorrow and work has given us all a £200 bonus, the taxman has taken a bit of it but it's still really nice to get. I'm looking forward to paying some more of the mortgage. I'm going to do a few sums and see if £900 would be possible. That would get me under £37k and I would have also met my target of £5k OPs for 2023 on the mortgage free wannabes challenge.Mortgage Balance as of July 2025 £14,900.

Lovely to get a bonus. Don’t blame you on the early morning shop. I’m doing the same just to grab the fresh stuff and some milk etcDFW (08/08) £64,346.53 Gone (02/19)
