Well, the usual DD for the mortgage has gone out and an overpayment of £135.93 paid to round it down to £38,700. Another box ticked off the chart!
Last week felt like a really long week. I don't know if it's the dark mornings and nights, but I'm definitely ready for the Christmas break from work. I'm currently splitting the week between old job and new job and it's becoming tiring. I do have a 1-2-1 with my boss tomorrow, so I will be asking how much longer this is going to carry on for and I will no longer accept 'I don't know'.
I can't help thinking when I've paid off the mortgage, I should have a really good think about what I want to to do with the rest of my working life and perhaps a change of company would be a good thing.
We've managed to last a few extra days before ordering the shopping to be delivered on Wednesday by using things in the freezer and cupboards. I need to work on meal plans again as I'm obviously buying too much.
Have a good week all xMortgage Balance as of July 2025 £14,900.

Well done on the mortgage payments, you are getting there! I’m trying to cut down on food shops and use up stuff I have; food and petrol still seem to be going up despite what we are being told, at least my mortgage hasn’t for a few months now 🤦♀️. Haven't posted for a couple of weeks, but to be honest, not much to report!
The mortgage now stands at £38,500 🙂
Target for the end of 2024 will be to be in the 20s! I'm super excited about the 20s for some reason, I think it's because it means I'm getting so close to paying it all off.
We've booked and paid the deposit for a week in the lake district with the dogs in May next year, so that's something to look forward to.
Work is still doing my head in with the dual role and no end in sight, with my boss just erming and arring about everything, leaving me in limbo. Then to add insult to injury, I was told my absence for the year was too high. The majority being when I went over on my ankle and was on crutches for several weeks. The doctors signed me off for a total of 6 weeks but I actually only had 8 days off work, agreeing to work from home the rest of the time instead. Considering how much they're messing me about, it felt a bit of a slap in the face! If I ever get a doctor's note in future, I will be taking every blooming day of it! Apologies for the rant.
Have a good week all 🙂Mortgage Balance as of July 2025 £14,900.

No need to apologise, that's a blinking outrage!! I hope they have amended their records to show that you were actually only off for 8 days. Grrrr.4

I have just caught up on your diary Jess. A massive well done on everything you have achieved over the past few years. Your bungalow sounds so homely!
DH and I are both originally Suffolk natives too, now living in Yorkshire, and are also regularly there visiting family. I also daydream about moving back there one day to live by the sea again 🙂

Thank you for the supportive comments and work has been told what for!
@MerryHen thank you for reading all of that! 🙂 There's just something about being by the sea that is really calming for me and I love it! The dogs enjoy running around on the sand like loons 😂
Last day of the month, so just waiting for the normal mortgage DD to come out tomorrow and then I can make another OP. I'm hoping a bit of money might come our way for Christmas, so we can make an extra OP.
DH has booked us in at the local Indian restaurant for tea tomorrow night as a little treat, which I'm really looking forward to (I will be wearing my stretchy jeans, seeing as he's paying, I'm going to get my money's worth 😂)Mortgage Balance as of July 2025 £14,900.

😂😂😂 Love it SC!
Well, the Indian was super yummy as always and we're very lucky to have such a good one just up the road in the next village. Poppadoms with pickle tray and onion bhajis for starter, saag aloo (spinach and potato) with mushroom rice and a cheese naan for main 😋 DH had a spicy mixed grill thing (as a veggie I don't pay much attention to meat dishes 😂) with a peshawari naan and we did share the mushroom rice and the onion bhajis we had for starters, so a little mse there.
We have had a spendy day today as we have done some Christmas shopping, which did include me and DH buying each other new coats for Christmas. They were needed as the zip is broken on mine and his has lost its waterproofing. We both now have nice, thick, waterproof coats for winter which have inner coats that can be unzipped and taken out so that the outer coat can be used as a lightweight rain coat in the warmer months. Very handy for all the dog walking we do!
The normal DD for the mortgage has now gone out and I have made an OP of £355.93 which brings the new total to £37,880! 😀
In celebration the Christmas decs have gone up and feeling very festive now 🎄Mortgage Balance as of July 2025 £14,900.
