Thank you for the lovely comments! 🙂
We've come to the decision that we're going to buy somewhere in the village for our next home once our current place is paid off and then when that next house is all paid off, sell up and buy a little place by the sea. If we pay this place off first it means we don't have the added pressure of having to sell it to be able to get another mortgage. It's nice to have a bit more of a set plan in place of how we want to move forward.
I've paid another op of £80 as it was annoying me not be down to the nearest 100, so the balance is now £37,800.
My boss announced this week that they have hired a new manager, who will start when we go back in Jan and will absorb my old role! Woohoo! I'm really looking forward to getting into my new role full time, what I've been doing of it so far has been really enjoyable and I feel like it's really going to help my mental health 🙂
This weekend has been a quiet one due to the poop weather, but we did have fun at a quiz with my parents and their friends on Friday night and even came second! Today I have sorted out new pet insurance for dog 2 as his renewal came through at £120 more than last year 😱 Very annoying when we haven't claimed either, I just need to cancel the renewal tomorrow as they aren't open to call on a Sunday. The new one is a few pounds less than what I pay now as well, so a nice saving overall.
Have a good week all xMortgage Balance as of July 2025 £14,900.

Great news about the manager. Start the new year afresh. Eeek at the insurance renewal. It is annoyingly it goes up so much when you haven’t claimed.DFW (08/08) £64,346.53 Gone (02/19)

Thank you @MerryHen @debtfreeoneday @newgirly 🙂
Unfortunately, this week has not been a good one as I tested positive for covid. Someone at work came in with it as they felt fine, old boss said as long they feel fine then they can stay, but then me, my new boss and three other colleagues went into a meeting with covid person, who didn't feel the need to tell any of us (the meeting could have been held on teams). My new boss tested positive first and called me one evening to tell me, he'd also found about covid person knowing but not saying anything to us before we went in the meeting, so he was livid (he has asthma and his wife has MS so is vulnerable)! I'd had a scratchy throat since the day after the meeting, so I knew when new boss called me that I had it too. I am also livid as my mum is vulnerable and I had been to see her that evening. Luckily she tested negative. I've had a nasty cough and lost my voice, the worst headache I've ever had, bunged up/snotty and then just absolutely knackered. I'm negative now and feeling better, so can go back to work tomorrow, but I'm going to avoid covid person as otherwise I might end up saying not very nice things! I must add that 4 other people that work in the same office as covid person got sick too, including old boss, so this whole come in if you feel fine business is just nonsense!
My well laid plans of getting the rest of the Christmas presents and wrapping them up was ruined and today I've only managed to do a few bits because I get tired easily 😔 Only 3 days of work to go and then I'm done until 3rd January and I can't blooming wait!Mortgage Balance as of July 2025 £14,900.

Oh no jessy, how are people so selfish? I warn people if I’ve got a cold let alone Covid, I mean you don’t know everyone’s health issues so it’s only right to give them a heads up, hope you are not feeling too rough!MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁2
