Another working week done and finished it off by getting a stinking cold 😡 I haven't been 100% since I got covid before Christmas, so thinking my immune system is still a bit squiffy and I picked up a cold from nowhere. I'm listening to my body and have been resting and letting DH look after me, God love him, he's a good egg!
With payday on Friday, I have a made a nice overpayment to the mortgage of £411.41 (it was £36,611.41 after the interest had been added on) which brings the new balance down to £36,200 and a total overpayment of £558.40 for January. My target is still to overpay £500 a month, so we're off to a good start.
I'm now going to do a meal plan for the next two weeks (exciting Saturday night 😂 ) and then do an online shop of what we need. Been doing this for the past couple of months and it's saving us about £20 each time, so definitely worth it.
Mortgage Balance as of July 2025 £14,900.

I hope you feel better soon. The lady I share my office with had covid around Christmas time and keeps picking up bugs going round. She put it down to the low immune system too. Definitely try to have a good rest.
As for exciting Saturday nights - like you I need to do the meal plan and online shop.Me, DD1 19, DS 17, DD2 14, Debt Free 04/18, Single Mum since 11/19

Thank you both x
I had a rough night but do feel better this afternoon and definitely over the worst of it. Unfortunately, we did have to cancel a meet up with friends and their dogs in a country park this morning because of it, but hopefully we can rearrange it soon.
Meal plan and online shop was done last night and delivered this evening, £97 for two weeks, so I'm pleased with that.
Got a rucksack delivered today from Amazon, after a discount and a £5 voucher it only came to £30 and will come in handy when we got to the lake district in May.
Have a good week all 🙂Mortgage Balance as of July 2025 £14,900.

It hasn't been the best start to the week. After initially starting to feel better Sunday evening, I had the most horrendous night with a really chesty cough and bunged up nose. My eyes were then so irritated I contracted conjunctivitis. I had a trip to the docs/chemist and came home with what seemed like the whole pharmacy 😅 Starting to finally feel human today and was even well enough to peel some veg and make swede and carrot soup for lunch. Which tasted really nice!
Going back to work tomorrow but just need to be careful not to overdo it and be careful not spend too much time in certain areas of the factory, as we make timber doors and windows, the dust could irritate my throat/chest and my eyes.
My mum told me to buy some multivitamins to help build my immune system back up, so I have done as I have been told and the pot of 365 multivitamin tablets has just arrived. Fingers crossed they do help and at £20 for the pot, I can't really complain about cost.
Waiting for tomorrow when the next mortgage DD goes out and I can make another overpayment, to cheer myself up 🙂Mortgage Balance as of July 2025 £14,900.

Thanks beanie. I do tend to take vitamin d throughout the autumn and winter months, but it's not helped me this year, unfortunately. I have been good and have been taking my multivitamin and I am feeling a lot better now, with just a bit of a lingering cough and snotty nose. I'm hoping this will clear up soon.
Mortgage news: My DD came out on the 1st as usual and I've made an op of £138.11, this means my new total is £35,850 and I have officially paid off just over 50% of the mortgage in 4 years and 7 months!! 😀 I am so happy and proud of myself. It also gives me a lot of hope that the rest will be paid off by the end of my next 5 year fix. I can do this!! 😀Mortgage Balance as of July 2025 £14,900.
