Thank you all for the kind comments and SC, I especially love the title and pic! 😂

Still trying to get rid of the last of this cold and cough, it's really clinging on for dear life but we're getting there.

We had a company come round for a quote to repair and replace render on the bungalow this week and although their product looked really good, they quoted us £6,800!! Considering we live in an end of terrace, 1 bedroom bungalow and are looking to move after 5 years, I can't justify spending this much money. I've got a few other places to try, but I may look how easy it is to do ourselves.

We had another rendering company out during the week and they quoted £6,500, so this does seem to be the going rate. Me and DH had a chat about it and we're thinking that if we are considering keeping this place and renting it out, it might be worth spending the money on having it done properly. Unfortunately, it won't be this year though as we will need to save up for it and although we both do have some savings now, we'd rather keep that for any emergencies that could possibly arise.

We've had a bit of a spendy weekend as we went out for a meal Friday night and ended up having three courses 😱 It was super yummy and a treat we only have a few times a year, so I'm not beating myself up to much about it.

Unfortunately, there has been some unpleasantness at work which has left me quite upset and anxious. I'd noticed that the new lady that started in January and took over my old job role had taken a dislike to me and everything I've have said over the past few weeks has had a very rude or snarky response and when I try to be nice and say hello, I am ignored. It came to a head Wednesday when my new boss had asked me to do something and when I did this, I was sent a message on the office teams (which includes several colleagues) being completely shut down and told no by her and that if I had a problem with it I should go see her. I must mention that my new boss is a company director, so he wasn't best impressed when I'd told him what had happened and that I was visibly upset about it. He then spoke to my old boss, who is new lady's boss and I was brought in to his office for a chat on Friday. It seems that when I had explained how I used to do something, she had taken this as a criticism and that I had doubted her ability to do the job. This was certainly not my intention and I pride myself on trying to help people, because if I can make someone's life easier by sharing knowledge or helping someone with a task when they are busy, why wouldn't I?! What gets me the most is instead of coming to see me and expressing her feelings, she has used this as an excuse to bully and humiliate me in front of other people the past few weeks and my confidence is just shot. I have been asked by old boss to have a sit down with her and with him there as a mutual party to clear the air and hopefully move forward. I'm ok to do this but my anxiety is through the roof thinking about it and what I'm going to say 😔

On a positive note, a work colleague who I get on really well with got me watching Schitt's Creek as it's one of her favourite TV shows, so needing a little project I cross-stitched her one of the characters, Moira Rose and she loved it 🙂

Urgh, what a rotten thing to happen.  Not surprised you're anxious about it.  Hopefully you can clear the air though and sort things out xx

On a different note,  we had some rendering done recently and it was expensive! We paid £900, and it was only a gable end 😱 we went for it as there was water coming in and damaging the wall but it did seem quite a lot.  I'd assumed it was expensive because it needed scaffolding but he just did it off a ladder 😮

Oh no I’m not surprised you are upset Jessy, she sounds like a right c@w! Why do people have to be so unpleasant, if you have an issue then politely talk to the person no need for spiteful behaviour 😡 Hope you get it sorted, or you could always sew a doll of her and stick pins in it? 😆

Brilliant Moira cross stitch, we love schitts creek here 🙂

Thanks beanie, cheery and NG. It has been ok today as I've been out the way in our factory office keeping busy there.

That's interesting cheery, seems rendering is definitely inline with the cost of plumbers and electricians. Both quotes do come with a 15 year warranty, so overall cost is worth it really.

Oh and forgot to say, which is funny considering its the main reason I'm here, I made a small overpayment of £50 towards the mortgage, so the new total is £35,800 🙂
