Ey up Miss P, hope you're having a nice Sunday. I think the psychological effect of getting down to a nice round figure is a very important one, feels good doesn't it?! I've just done my last lot of debt payments for this year and stuck an extra, erm, £12 on just to make my total a nice round £9600 (£9500 would have been lovely but I'd like to be able to eat in January :D)

Good luck with AQA if you decide to go ahead with it x
Debt@16.12.09 £10,362.38, now debt free as of 29.02.2012.

    Hi P :santa2:

Hope you're well, excellent news on the over payments, you'll get that cc sorted in no time.

Any news on jobs or after Xmas for decisions/interviews? Can I ask a little questions as I must have missed it somewhere, why does your employer have to see your financial information?

My windows fund had an unexpected boost today, my Granddad sent £60 for Xmas which is amazing as he's in his 80's. I'm gonna ring him to say what we're doing with it and why (need to do nursery after getting the windows!). I'll have to make sure we go down to see him in Sandy after Xmas.

    Take care Ev x

Well i think the cats won on the housework challenge at this end, but i did win against the frostbite and washed the car by hand, the animals are also sorted which is nice.
Unfortunately Asda also won today, managed to spend a fortune and still trying to figure out what one. I know i got the soft drinks for christmas but were they really that much extra? glad i stick to water during the year.
  • well done miss P you keep it up! Any running done? I'd also go or the psyh boost even if it meant not doing the most sensible it does make more difference long term as you feel more otivated IYKWIM!

Ah yes, the diary....*shuffles feet uncomfortably*

I sort of got a bit fed up of the constant posts criticising diaries that are social threads, and mine has been a bit guilty of that recently because there isn't much debt busting I can do while I'm on maternity leave with no income, so I've sort of let it lapse. I think I will wait until I actually have some money coming in again, and then will set myself a challenge to get the last of the debt kicked.

Don't be silly Mrs. The diaries fill an important niche in terms of debt-busting. Remember, the DFW lifestyle is not solely about income, but also about expenditure, and indeed general attitude. There are tips and hints and new ways of thinking about things that just come out by accident (notable example - getting rid of your change in the supermarkets "pack your own" machines).

    So get those diaries done.

    Personally, I like a bit of socialising though....hehehe! ;)

Well that's the other side of it - it's help and support. The socialising is part of the support. None of us are alone.

i know what you mean snaggs i was kinda feeling that way too so had left mine alone for a while but then went back to it and soon after made it debt free so i dont feel i can keep it going now either and much as i love the daily chat idea (think it helps alot) i did like having a place where i could keep all my musings (utter rubbish that i write) together in the one place ...im just popping in and out of other threads now and enjoying that

Don't be silly Mrs. The diaries fill an important niche in terms of debt-busting. Remember, the DFW lifestyle...am I repeating myself here?

You're not writing rubbish - you are inspiring both with spirit/attitude and with ideas those people who come to this site lacking both.

oh god, I leave my diary for a few days, purely through unadulterated laziness and OH MY GOD this is going to be a long post!!!

GASBAG and proud of it Z!!!! :rotfl: where have you been? anywhere nice? :D

OKies, where to start? firstly, the job, Not heard anything form mr spontaneous interview, lets scare the bejesus out of you man, so am going to call him today and advise him of my availability for the week.... ie get down on my hands and knees and BEG him to call me back in again :rotfl:
OH and I didn't go to my work christmas doo in the end despite them making me pay for OH even though we cancelled 2 weeks early, the very idea of spending an evening making nice with people i really didn't want to make nice with didn't inspire at all, and the fact that OH had threatened to knock line managers block off if he said anything out of order  i thought it best to stay away!!:D

So, still looking, but atleast i know that I can get comfortably through chrimbo this year and bide my time into the new year.
also fastly arriving is the dog training... and there in arises a new scenario.
Mic Martin, whom I was meant to be training with has had to go away and as such any courses etc have been postponed, I have looked into doing a 9 month home study cognitive behavioural training and canine psychology course which would enable me to automatically practice as a pet behavioural councillor, own business, very low set up costs, something to do that A) would be a dream B) would earn me more money and C) eventually allow me to bin mortgages and have a cracking job training security and possibly even prison dogs! only draw back, it's £325 by 1st feb!!! eep!!! ebayebayebayebayamazonamazonamazonamazon!!!!!!!! :rotfl: :rotfl:

moving onto the more pressing matters of strictly come dancing... I knew matt was through as there was no WAY they were going to boot out the only straight ten scorer of the series!! but i have to admit that I was a nervous wreck when they judges were announcing who they wanted to save. :o
that last dance of gethins just wasn't dynamic enough to show off his true ability, now if it had been the salsa he would've gone through. sorry he went out though duchy, anbd who thinks matt and flavia would make a gorgeous couple, mememememe!!!!

Poor little DP bless him, we went out for a walk around the village on sunday, we had a lovely time and he got all excited and starting prancing about. But no one has called me about him, Landladys brother hasn't bothered calling when it was him to start with who asked if i would sell him and planted the seed. went up to see the builder yesterday and no one was there, so another "leave it until after christmas and sort it then" situation, but atleast he remains my little boy for a while longer, although he is such a scruf right now with his long woolly dirty coat and mane, the other day he had quite clearly been rolling in some teasles as his mane was stuck straight up in the air and he looked like alice cooper on a bad day, he made me laugh out load which was great. :rotfl: oh dear i'm starting to talk myself out of selling him again now, had best stop:o

And re the running.... HAve done plenty! i can feel me hip bones again WOOOOOOO!!!!!:rotfl: :rotfl: soooo looking forward to 13th april, it can't come quick enough! although no doubt when it arrives i'll wish it was still months off!! :D

Right... debt busting... here goes.... My northern rock amount in my sig was a loan that my dad took out for me 2 years ago to get shot of several amounts of finance that I had at the time. Now, on welcome i am paying a shocking amount of interestand on the 3 smaller bits i am aware that they will accept full and finals some £400 short of where they stand right now.
so.... if i can get my father to restructure the northern rock loan back to the original 10k, I will be getting rid of welcomes 36.9%apr and saving money on the settlement figures, I can then concentrate on overpaying the n rock loan in accordance with my 15K for 2008 challenge, but would have so much more money to be able to do it with. It would clear up my credit rating showing all my defaults as satisfied and would also clear up the situation with work, as according to them I would just have the one thing (and my training debt) outstanding. think I need to do the figures to convince myself that it really is a good idea and then talk to dad and see if it is a goer or not.

Right, so thats enough waffling from me, Snags and El, get those diaries back out ladies!!!! c'mon, we need all the support we can get and socialising here to provide us with that support is sometimes the most important thing going.

And EL,, fab news on being debt freeeeee!!!! welldone you!!:T :T :T :T

    Hi P :santa2:

Can I ask a little questions as I must have missed it somewhere, why does your employer have to see your financial information?

Hiya Ev, how are you doing and how are you feeling? do hope that you arte putting your feet up lots and taking good care of yourself!:D

Well, employer has to see financial information as I am a mortgage advisor. even though FSA states that a person is not fit and proper only if they have CCJ's or a pre-existing bankruptcy, for some reason my employers have classed me due to 3 smelly dusty defaults of 3 1/2 years ago as a high risk of committing mortgage fraud, a fine thing to say to an ex traffic cop who spent 7 years upholding law and order!!! (pania put the soap box away you are answering a question here!:rotfl: ) so therefore they insist on conducting reviews of my finances. these had lapsed to once every 3 months but they have now decided for some reason that my finances are "tight" and as such I must provide them with everything they ask for, including the holy grail, once per month or I shall have my contract terminated, oh and if i miss one monthly payment to a creditor, I shall have my contract terminated,oh and if i make one more mistake on a mortgage case (i have only had one and that was deemed a training issue) then I shall have my contract terminated. add to that a quest for the crown jewels and i think we're about covered!!!

Its got to the point where i've got to the f*** it stage and am laughing at it all instead of sitting blubbing as i would have done many months hence. If they want to be that pathetic then i shall just carry on and do my job, I've nothing to hide anymore.

Anyway, there is the sound of a kettle boiling at Hypnos I can hear, so best get off, get showered, changed and going!!

    Big hugs
    P

    oh!

wow imagine if my employer could see how close to the breadline I get each month!

I don't see what your personal info has to do with anyone else (except your creditors) unless you were doing something dodgy!! ;-)

Fingers crossed a new job comes up for you soon xx

I'm feeling fine, had a couple of weeks where I kept falling asleep but now much better. Telling work after Xmas as I have to have a risk assessment done as work over North Wales all week. Gonna tell dd next week, fingers crossed she'll really love a brother or sister.

Well done with running, I haven't been out at all and missing it so must get out for a few minutes over the hols.

    hi pania
glad to see you back here. we got good news payrise sorted and back dated yay, probably will make the officers more narked than they already are (don't blame them though!)
Dad had a pre op assessment today, they're doing angio gram on 28th, happy christmas everyone! just terrified he'll do his usual and his heart'll stop beating on the table again. Has a bad habit of doing that everytime they go near his heart.
Just off to see my sister, the craft night was cancelled but need to take some stuff over and an orchid for our friend who had offered to make my wedding dress. Have i mentioned that i've found one? lol Sorry i'll stop that now, just no opportunity to get all giddy in male dominated office.
