    Dear All

I am sat at Pania's house doing some real life butt kicking to go with the virtual kicking that you are (thankfully) all giving her.

As a result, I have taken drastic action.........and Pania has said that if I publicly pledge on MSE to do it, then she will behave.

So.......If Pania does NOT go to the gym for the moment and DOES NOT run the marathon this year, in order to save her eye from possible permanent damage, then I PLEDGE THAT I WILL BECOME HER RUNNING (well, slow jogging) PARTNER FOR THE 2009 MARATHON..... That way, she will have no choice but to take things easy when she gets the all clear from the hospital, because I am about as fast as a very slow hippo.........

Anyway.....it will be doing me a favour too as I did pledge to my dad before he died that I would do the marathon again before I was 40, and as I am now heading that way, I had better get my trainers on..............

TBH Pania will be doing me a favour too - I need the motivation of a running partner to get me out there.......and in discussing such matters this afternoon we discovered that our previous marathon times are almost identical.........so that means we can set ourselves realistic targets.

Only thing is that I currently cannot run for a bus............see what I mean when I say that it will help Pania take things easy :rotfl:

ok ok people i concede defeat. I promise you that if i did go to the gym it would only be GENTLE exercise as i have been advised to do. But i realise once there the temptation would be to push it further.
SO hypno and i have struck a deal. Due to certain oppositions if i were honest i haven't put in the road miles, yes i'd get round the marathon but i wouldn't do it well and COULD risk making things worse. COuple with the eye problem could just be asking for trouble.
I'm disappointed i was looking forward to it, but I guess there is always next year and i can concentrate on getting myself fit and in shape with some in between races until then. And I will be able to focus on it more.
I need to start doing some more ME stuff, not pandering so much to other whims. that way, if the eye hadn't have happened i would've been in a better situation to do so.
Right must dash, take care all. and thankyou, I mean that.

And thank you hypno to, I've said it before and i say it again. your a blo0dy good friend. looking forward to our first run. :)

Going to they gym is such not a good idea at the moment Pania. There's the rest of your life to get fit.
