Well done!!!!
I am (slightly) jealous, as I did loads of applications but not heard anything back yetFingers crossed.
Would be great if we both got in - but yay to you
My day is pretty nightmarish - heating sensor remote thingy broke on Thursday am, bloke took it away, said he couldn't fix it, so we bought a new one and got it fixed (by someone else) which cost £130. First bloke turned up this morning saying he had a mess with it again last night and got it working - for the pricely sum of £15! Am gutted - £130 we have had to fork out. Problem was we were so cold and kids were upset we had no choice but to do something.
Aaaarrrrgggghhhhhh

Oh and ...............well done :T again0 -
Keeping my fingers crossed that you might get a Marathon place, Blackangel.
What a shame you had the expense of the new heating thingy but look on the bright side. The original guy didn't think it was repairable so only by fiddling about with it did he get it to work again. But that might only be a temporary repair and it might have conked out again when you could least do without it. Something similar happened with our ancient oil central-heating boiler last year. The repair man was here ages and didn't think he could fix it and couldn't get a new part until after Christmas. We were left with no heating at all just before Christmas. We borrowed a couple of Calorgas heaters and had to use the halogen heaters too. He came back on Christmas Eve triumphantly brandishing the part he'd had to remove and saying he'd managed to fix it. So he put it back in and everything seemed fine:j .
Christmas morning it conked out again and we had to wait until 3 days later before we could get anyone to supply and fix a new part. Not an experience I want to repeat:eek: . Luckily, we were just spending Christmas on our own at home. Good thing we weren't entertaining our usual crowd that year.0 -

congratulations for getting a place.
My mini challenge is to have £10 extra each month in the bank so that every 5 months i can drop my overdraft.
Woke up in a panic last last week though, remembered that the local govt are going to increase my contribution from 6% to 8.5%. And i've got to remortgage in March which means that's bound to go up! just have to tighten the belt again, wonder where i can find the extra.
Just wish they'd sort out the bloomin payrise negotiations!0 -
Hi pania,
I've just sat and read your diary and while I visit the forums everyday, I don't post very often.
I have to say , though, your diary has inspired me.
I'm currently in Australia, I'm here for 3 months, get back to the UK very end of January. Doing a big holiday, living real life, children getting to know their grandparents, kind of thing!
Before we left, though, we had new windows, a porch and a conservatory....its all 0% till around the 20 something of September, so I was wondering if I could join your challenge...? And are you going to do a seperate thread or should I just keep coming back here?
Well done on the marathon...my DH wants to run it 'before he dies'...I reckon it'd be the thing that kills him!!0 -
HI fellas!!!
Sorry for going quiet, been a v busy week so far, lots of grumpy clients cos a certain solicitor hasn't been working too hard so lots of butt kicking going on in the pania camp right now!!!!!getting them sorted now though and atleast they aren't grumpy at me which is fab!!!
Right so the weekend.... Was lovely.....
Dad is back home and very very poorly love him, ( ***TMI ALERT!!!!***) he lost loads of blood during the op and has an infection, so is suffering at the mo, but was lovely to see him. For those of you that read my last diary dad and I haven't got on for ages but have been building bridges since i've been away from home and on saturday I gave him a (gentle) hug and told him I loved him. To be able to do that again was the best thing in the world.
Niece had a fabby birthday and is such a little character, she even asked me for a cuddle when she was sleepy in the evening, I was amazed as I haven't seen her for 3 months, just goes to remind you how much you can miss being away from home.
We went out for the eve with mine and OH's bezzie mates, very DFW as we used some more vouchers that we had to assist in acheiving half cut status, AAAAAAAAANNNNDDD!!!! I'm due a refund from the hotel!!!! very DFW hey!!!
Basically the central booking line messed up and booked us into a hotel a further 10 miles away from where we should have been!! So besides mum paying half, I am pressing for £30 back to cover costs of taxi's and inconvenience!!! Bit of an unexpected brucie bonus that one!! wooooo!!!!
I have to admit to having a mini turn last night, I challenged OH, spendthrift extrordinaire and complete money dunce to a challenge.
namely....week we take out £10 from the cashpoint, then swap cards so that we can't obtain access to anymore. We do NOT give them back under any circs..........So at tesco last night, he wanders off the cashpoint, comes back, hands over the shopping money AND his bank card without being asked, opens his wallet and says "just to prove to you i've only got a tenner" and then proceeds to declare that he will thrash me at the challenge and will still have some left next monday!!!!!I have to admit I had to find a chair, quickly!!!:-) :-) :-)
I have to admit though that he has had a bit of a shock this month due to a certain error made and looooooooads of charges being made due to said error. it may be the start of something beautiful kids. yay!!!
FrankieM, your in aus right now!!!! You lucky lucky lucky bean!!!! your more than welcome to join in the challenge hon, maybe then I can join you in the southern Hemisphere!! woooo, Thanks for checking in and having a read though!!
Hi Lemontree, eep to the govt contributions!!! How much spare time if any do you have right now? are there any talents you have that you can earn money from? let me know and i'll rack my (tiny) little brain!! if you need any help with the remo give me a shout, more than happy to help.
Thanks Lunar, wasn't too sure how people would react to the spinal injuries associationas mum said, it's not children or animals and as such possibly a little harder to raise money for. But it is a cause close to my heart for reasons that i shall tell about later (still upsets me to think about it and i'm at work so that won't do) and one that (provided i can find the £100 squid!) i will be proud to run for.
Right i'd best get back to work (for work read catch up with others diaries!! he he!!) Hugs xxxxdebt @05/11/11 £12210.63!! slowly chipping away!!:heart2:impossible is nothing.:heart2:0 -
