Ignorant drivers are roundabouts in the driving test anymore?

I have noticed an increase in people who don't indicate to come off the roundabout, so they are still indicating right as they leave the roundabout.
Not that I pay any attention of their indicators anyway, but it is annoying when you stop as they are indicating right only for them to leave at the last second without changing their indication0 -
I don't trust them, just give them plenty of room so they don't hit me! I've seen people go side by side on a roundabout!!0

So it doesn't say anything about slowing down as you approach the roundabout in order to assess other traffic that's just entering it? Thinking about small roundabouts here.0

Quite right too! Take that attitude and you are more likely to avoid being in an accident.
I used to live in Worthing. There is a roundabout in the town centre with two exits 9the Waitrose roundabout for anyone in the area). Most drivers used the left hand lane for the second exit. I stood there a couple of times counting the number of people who were in the wrong lane and not signalling.
OP asked the question "are roundabouts in the driving test anymore". I think it is drivers who have been driving for a long time who don't know how to use roundabouts properly.
Another bugbear is people who come to a complete stop at a roundabout when it is not necessary. Slow down. Look. If the roundabout is clear, keep going.
I think everyone should be forced to retake the driving test regularly.0 -
I always hold my upturned palm out of the window at them sarcastically, as if to say: 'Did you want to continue on the roundabout?'I too see a number of people who seem to think that they should indicate right all the way round then left just as they are about to come off
That's what I was taught 30 years ago - has it changed?0 -
I need to think of something new here...0

As a regular user of the two large traffic light controlled roundabouts at either end of the Edinburgh bypass (Sheriffhall and Gogar), I would say more issues arise from the inability to pick the correct lane and to actually drive IN a lane cause most of the problems rather than indicator issues.:beer::beer:0

If there are only two exits from the roundabout, then you should signal left if you intend taking the first exit and right if you intend taking the second exit.
You should only indicate right if the exit you're taking is actually right (after 12 oclock). When taking an exit to the right or going full circle, unless signs or markings indicate otherwise:
signal right and approach in the right-hand lane
keep to the right on the roundabout until you need to change lanes to exit the roundabout
signal left after you have passed the exit before the one you want.
When taking any intermediate exit, unless signs or markings indicate otherwise:
select the appropriate lane on approach to the roundabout
you should not normally need to signal on approach
stay in this lane until you need to alter course to exit the roundabout
signal left after you have passed the exit before the one you want.
When there are more than three lanes at the entrance to a roundabout, use the most appropriate lane on approach and through it.
If both exits are left or one is left and the other is straight on, then you shouldn't indicate right if taking the 2nd exit. You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means - Inigo Montoya, The Princess Bride0 -
Any roundabout, irrespective of exit numbers:
Taking 1st exit, indicate left. Taking 2nd exit, do not indicate until passing 1st exit, then indicate left. For 3rd and subsequent exits, stay in correct lane and don't indicate until passing penultimate exit, unless taking last exit, in which case stay in lane nearest to roundabout centre and indicate right until passing penultimate exit, then filter left and indicate left. Stay in correct lane! Works for me.
No one remembers that drivers entering a roundabout should look right and give way to traffic from your right. Drives me crackers!I think this job really needs
a much bigger hammer.
