Where have you been? Brexit has happened. The sunny uplands are just around the corner.cognoscente said:
Just shows how many haters there are, still trying to thwart Brexit. Or if that fails (which we mostly know it has) think of any excuse you can to prove Brexit is bad, never mind that it'll probably never be conclusively proven whether it's truly beneficial or not just like EU membership.movilogo said:Can't imagine this thread is still alive even after Brexit has happened.
There will be no Brexit dividend for Britain.3 -
What you talking about Willis? Firstly who say 'thwart' anymore? Secondly thwarting brexit hasn't just mostly failed - we left the EU in case you missed it. That funny smell that surrounds you is the smell of victory. You won!cognoscente said:

The thread's moved on to trade negotiations now which is far more interesting than the withdrawal arrangements.

I wonder if that'll take longer than it does to agree a trade deal?ukcarper said:Will be if EU manages to agree its budget.

Just realised I hadn't voted in the poll. I've gone for yes.1

UK's negotiating position published.

Not read it yet but, somehow, some of the talking heads have managed to do so and seem to saying, apart from a few areas, the EU & UK aren't a million miles apart.
However due to the ridiculous adversarial positions that are being taken by both sides to find mutual advantage expect much waving of small willies and puffing out of flabby chests.0 -
I've read it and the UK's position is one that no reasonable person could disagree with. Unfortunately we are not dealing with people who are either reasonable or trustworthy. The fascists of the future will call themselves anti-fascists.5

It depends on what you view as reasonable. Intro section 5 already rules out any comprehensive free trade.Moe_The_Bartender said:I've read it and the UK's position is one that no reasonable person could disagree with. I'm assuming the short version is the cake and eat it: completely free trade with the EU but without having to follow any of the rules?2 -
On this occasion, you're absolutely right. The UK government is demonstrably neither reasonable or trustworthy. Good of you to confirm this.Moe_The_Bartender said:I've read it and the UK's position is one that no reasonable person could disagree with.
