Chin up (or chins up in my case!).
:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
My (soon to be terminated) position is in a secondary school. It's full throttle all the time in May/June/July for this faculty, even more so than for others.
Anyhow, in an entire five minutes free in a nonstop day, I saw that I am going to be offered the part time 'easy' job. I really can't see this working, as I'll still be needed to do my old job as well, no question about it.
I need to get a completely different one and start again somewhere else, as I'll be constantly insecure, paid next to nothing for holiday periods because I won't have the additional hours that are currently in my basic pay, and I'll be trying to balance the demands of both. And I'll be under constant supervision/scrutiny for the first time in years, rather than being largely Free Range (posh name 'Independent/Self Directed Working'). Which really doesn't appeal to me.
Himself is away tomorrow midmorning until 5-6am Sunday morning for a gig (and will consequently be spending Sunday sleeping). I'm not in the mood to tag along and crew for them, but it'll be the first time I've been on my own since what happened to my brother.
I miss having a dishwasher and working washing machine. We're broke and I'm tired. But I have to keep busy, as despite everything, distracting me away from the crapness of the situation for a large part of eight hours a day has been a relief.
In all honesty, I'd say I need a holiday. A proper one. But there's no chance of that.I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.Yup you are officially Rock n Roll0 -
Hugs JoJo. Morning everyone.
Today, I'm thinking about dog walking, gardening, knitting, watching telly and bowling. I did fleetingly think about car washing but mmmmm......
Have a great day everyone.Spend less now, work less later.0 -
Morning all
Yesterday disappeared in a sea of paid stuff and then somehow I seemed to fall asleep in the evening. DH has gone to the pub and DD was revising in her room yet again, it was peaceful and boring... and somehow just happened.
Well done Jazee and HB. :T
(Hugs) Kaz. That sounds unduly harsh.
I need to make a list for today as my head is about to explode with things to do. I’ll be back later. Have a lovely day all x0 -
Dailies done and a four mile walk with the dogs. Watching tour de Yorkshire now.Spend less now, work less later.0

(((Hugs))) Jojo. You do have a dishwasher. Not sure what his name is, but he seems to be busy sleeping most of the time ....
Two of O'H's friends are in town so I've bought extra pizzas and things and we'll be spending the evening being sociable which is unusual for us on a Saturday. I've been out all day, so got home to OH shoving the vacuum cleaner around the ground floor.
He should invite his friends round more often, I think.Better is good enough.0 -

Hmmm. People wot run their entire lives around the concept of 'What if?' and thereby not risking getting a permanent job, leaving the house when it doesn't suit them or taking full responsibility for things on the grounds that it might make them feel bad whilst adopting an entirely passive persona really shouldn't grumble when somebody doesn't appreciate hearing that she 'will be fine, [she] will always be able to sort everything out, [she] will be able to fix everything' on the basis that [she] 'can't keep going on about the what-ifs' and '[She's] strong, [she] will do it because [she] Always Does'.
Cue one frankly hysterical meltdown from 3-5am. Needing to hear 'I'll do whatever it takes/you don't have to do all this on your own' is not solved by saying 'I'll see what I can do'. Especially when followed by such hypocrisy and a 'Fine, I won't work and I'll stay at home all day, then if responsibility's what you want'.
Reading the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy as theatre preparations are being made, dealing with so-called family who despise you and going back to work after a single 7 hour stretch of uninterrupted sleep (from medication) is not evidence that somebody can Cope with Anything and other people are therefore exempt from taking responsibility for more than badly washed up mugs and going to the local shop.
He went off to his gig anyway. Strange how The Show Must Go On concept of doing what has to be done never applies to anything else.
Today, I have
Unblocked the sink.
Replaced the end of the tap with the little movable swirly thing where it's been waiting sat 3 inches away on the windowsill since mid-February.
Scrubbed the sink.
Cleared the food, open packets and packaging off the countertops.
Scrubbed the countertops.
Cleaned gunge off the hob.
Cleaned appliance fronts, including the defunct WM.
Swept the floor.
Taken the bin bag out.
Retrieved a cold Bumblebee from under the coffee table where Idiot Cat had found it, fed it sugar water, taken it out the back and deposited it on a Dandelion in the brief period of warm sunshine.
Chucked out open packets of foodstuffs that had been left to go off in the fridge.
Chucked out half a carrier bag of unnecessary plastic packaging for surviving foodstuffs.
Drunk 2 black coffees and a Red Bull.
Realised the extractor fan bulb has blown.
Cleaned the toilet, sink, tiles and scrubbed the tidemark off the bath.
Eaten a packet of crisps.
Decided I am going to go and get something to eat without changing out of my trackie bottoms and stuff anybody's opinion that they are for indoor/gym wear only and 'proper clothes' should be worn outside.
Wished the damned rain and hail would stop on at least five separate occasions, as it seems to start again the moment I consider opening the front door.I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.Yup you are officially Rock n Roll0 -
Oh, can you count eating crisps as a chore on this thread?
I've seen people in shops in PJs round here, didn't get the impression they'd worried too overly, and I bet they hadn't heroically saved a bee beforehand :rotfl:A bit of grin and bear it, a bit of come and share it
