Thanks teafor2 - the loan is costing us interest, a very low rate (thanks to MSE) but it's costing more than the savings earn so I think it's a no brainier. We do have the situation with work tho and it would leave us with nothing. We would probably need to add £200 to the savings we have to clear it so I see his point.

I realised the date and couldn't leave the SC like that on the last day of the month. I made another £15 payment so the balance is £185, at least it's under £200 now.

Starting tomorrow I have 30 days to clear this ... I can manage this, it may be tight but I can pull it from somewhere :o

All DD's have gone out for other debts ... these are minimum for now but once this is cleared I can start on the next one. It's seems like such small payments I'm making but I'm proud I am paying and extra few £ here and there - it is better than nothing.

I also found 95p in my pocket so added that to my 1p a day pot :)

Small steps but I won't be disheartened :0

Sorry to hear you've not been feeling well, hope it passes soon!

We cancelled Sky TV (kept the broadband and phone line) but we felt we were paying loads for not a lot. Got a Now TV stick and wow - pay for the movies and kids, have access to Sky One and Atlantic (Game of Thrones anyone?) plus a few other channels, about a third of the price. We never payed for movies with Sky as just so expensive. So much happier!

Keep on with the small steps, they'll turn into big leaps :rotfl:

Thanks esme I'm fine for TV at the moment but have looked at Now TV for the kids maybe in the winter when they are in more often. I like them playing out a lot at the moment and getting the fresh air!

Had a busy day today so happy to be in bed early, made a beef casserole in the SC and have extra to freeze.

No additional payments today but hopefully by next week I can make some more. It's frustrating how long it takes to get payments going but I suppose I can't make any payments if I have nothing left in the pot :(

It’s the small things which add up.

I’ve been selling a couple of small things a week on eBay and in the end it all adds up.

Just thought I'd run this idea on here first ...

I'm busy planning our little holiday next week and I'm seriously considering taking the SC....

We are going to a caravan and with 4 of us it's expensive to eat out. We have done this holiday before many times and I always take food but refuse to cook so it's always things like pizzas or pie etc

My plan would be to put all the ingredients for a meal in a freezer bag and then I can just 'dump' it in the SC when it's defrosted then if I need to add rice, pasta or jacket potatoes I can do that easily.

    What do you think?
Any ideas of meals that could work?

I already take snacks and drinks for the kids but not sure if this is a bit much.

I have my weeks shopping money so can shop and prep at home what we need.

Regarding auto correct once sent my wife's sister a text to thank her for my present, auto correct changed that to "thank you for my birthday orgasm"

We are going to St Ives self catering, we will take a frozen curry and a frozen chili, which will sort out 2 days. My birthday( 65!) Is the Saturday we go, so we've got a restaurant booked for that, fish and chips one day then only 2 days to sort
