Ignore it or appeal?

Said vehicle parked on a piece of land. A closed down shop.
Signage was unclear whether it was for the neighboring shop or the closed down one.
Vehicle Parked in the closed one.. Now had Letter issued from UKPS Ltd from Leamington., stating parked incorrectly and need to pay the fine.,usual 14 days/£60 etc
Nothing on windscreen, just a photo of vehicle , though no photo of sign. Nothing on photo gives evidence to say where it is located, or photos of the warning signs.
I'm inclined to ignore it completely, and wait.. Or should it be appealed?
Advice please.

At the top of this board is a thread that tells Newbies to read it first. You need to read it as it answers your question and some you haven't yet asked.0

Go back to where you saw the

In the list of threads, you are looking for one entitled:**NEWBIES!! PRIVATE PARKING TICKET? OLD OR NEW? **READ THESE FAQS FIRST!** Thankyou!
It is always one of the first four threads on the list.0 -

Don't know what to do.
Read ignore it, if you acknowledge it you'll get bombarded.
Now you've said it's silly to ignore.
I've read the newbie thread as advised still no clearer0 -
I've read through it, though I'm getting mixed messages on here.
Some say ignore some say appeal.0 -

Some say ignore some say appeal.
Where does it say in here to ignore a ticket?
Edit to say you posted that you couldn't find the Newbies thread then 15 minutes later said you had read it. If that's the case I'm not convinced you found the right thread. Reading it in 30 minutes isn't possible let alone 15.0 -
You asked "Where is this newbie thread?"
Twenty four minutes later you tell us you have read the newbies thread.
Can I respectfully suggest that you need to take a bit of time to understand what you have just read?
I too have read that thread, many times, but I cannot recall reading about ignoring a Parking Charge Notice.0 -
Unfortunately Stephen the newbies thread still contains some out of date references to 'ignore it', and that can be confusing to absolute beginners.
Ignoring it used to be sound advice, however things have progressed since then with various court cases, and the advice now is to respond to the NtK, by appeal as detailed in the newbies thread.
The first appeal will almost certainly be rejected, however the point of the exercise is to gain a POPLA code so that a 'proper' appeal can be put together.
And the make up of that will be determined by you divulging more details, like posting up redacted copies of the PCN, the signage on site, and many things that almost always leads to some form of non-compliance by the PCC. (parking charge company).
Hope that's clearer for you.0 -
Thanks Mark. Yes that's helpful.
I get the code, and esculate the claim. My only concern is if all fails, payment is more than the original 14 day £600
