    Morning. :hello:

It's turning out to be quite pleasant here today.

I deposited Miss Twit at school at 7.45, ready for her hockey match, she's due back about 2.30....they've gone to Rydal Penhros (sp) which is in North Wales..I think. :rotfl:

I called into Lidl on the way home and got quite a bit of cheap veg. So, there is a large pan of leek and potato soup simmering away and I've got the base for a cottage pie in the slow cooker.
Next I will have to deal with the 5lb of chuck steak that I got.

I think I will make a start on the ironing and maybe try and flylady it a bit...iron 5 items...cut up some meat. But, if I find something good to watch on TV or a DVD, then it will probably just be ironing.

    Happy Birthday Miss Crazychik.
    Hester enjoy your day.
Pink, I hope Adam is still doing well.
Stefejb, hope DD is feeling better and those tonsils improve.
Kyle and JoannasMum, I do feel for you when the little ones aren't sleeping well.
    Snowy...mmmm crumble...I can't think of a better breakfast..or lunch.
Natzini, don't overdo it and make yourself worse.
    Mrs Mix, hugs.
Pen-Pin hugs and hope the essay goes OK.
MrsMcawber, I think you need to knit yourself some socks..well done on the continued weightloss, your family will hardly recognise the new slimline you.
N9eav, glad to hear you are all recovering from the lurgy.
Aussielass, hope your squirmyness goes soon..is DGS feeling better.
AnnieBooklover, I think you've sent your grotty weather North and it's now arrived at me..the sun was out 10 minutes ago.
Twink, I hope you make lots of money for your playgroup...are you offering them Twinks or fruitcake..or anzacs?
Haribo..are you out and about in your new vehicle? Did the Twins look good in their spotty outfits?

Love and Hugs to all those I haven't mentioned in dispatches above, have a great weekend.

    Morning all,

Just a quickie as I have not yet showered or dressed! Was up early and came on to check a gas hob I'm thinking of buying and then of course one thing led to another.

Nothing much to report from Mean Mansions, looks as if it will rain soon so must rescue three machine loads of washing from line. Did plan on a kitchen blitz this morning but DD4 is having a friend over and has started cooking...maybe there will be enough to save me from doing any for dinner!!!

Still knitting like mad to make up for time lost while I was waiting for wool to arrive..still need to catch up on a few non-knitted gifts, think that I will do a charity donation in DB's name as never know what to buy him.

Hugs and kind thoughts to all who are sick, sore or tired in body and/spirit, and to all who are not managing to talk to us these days for whatever reason. Congratulations to all who are celebrating, Hester hope that DD's wedding goes/went well

    Afternoon all,

Hester Have a good day at your DDs wedding
[Crazychik[/b] Hope your DD has a good birthday

Well...I *think* I have a job :j :j :j. Went to see a man about it this morning, he wanted me to come in for a trial on Tuesday, then rang me half an hour later to say come in tomorrow please :). It's only a kitchen porter (in a very posh hotel), but it seems the kind of job that could lead to other things, so I am hopeful :). And the best bit - it's a day shift - 8.30 til ~3.30 - I was worried it would be split shifts :)

We have been collecting wood from Freecycle this morning - there's loads of it!! I think I should go outside now and get busy with the circular saw.

I had that funny night illness again last night. I wake up with excruiating cramps in my stomach, but today I am absolutely fine, don't feel sick or anything. If it happens again tonight/tomorrow, I will go see the doctor.

Someone is coming to pick up a TV today from freecycle, so not sure what my plans are. Sawing wood I imagine . I should tidy the house and stuff.

    Have a good one

  • Afternoon all :hello:

Was up bright and early to be at Woolworths when they opened to get Dtwins' christmas prezzie.... They are 60% off and almost sold out so I got the last 2. :j
The plan for today was jam and chutney making but it took me hours to traipse round getting all the ingredients so now I'm too tired.
Need to make a chili with some stewing steak I got yellow stickered so I may manage to put a pot of chutney on while I'm in the kitchen. ;)

Couldn't find the car when I came out of Tesco's so I got soaked and have changed into my jammies. (perhaps if I had the Haribomobile it'd be easier to spot):o Not having much luck with cars.....I drove to pick the girls up from the bus stop yesterday and then forgot I had taken it and we walked home. Highly embarrassing.:o :rotfl:

Hope the wedding's going well Hester
That's great news about the job Blairweech.
    Sorry about the car Dlb.
    Happy Birthday Crazychick's DD.
PenPen Did you get lost on the walk?;):p

    Bye Bye

    Haribo x

The wedding went of without a hitch, Ex MIL spoke to me, I was stunned, but managed to recover enough to reply. Ex OH & I blanked each other, which was fine by me. My grandson was as good as gold & carried the rings, he went and stood between his Mum & Dad for part of the ceremony. The registrar ask him if he was going to the party after the wedding & what he was having to eat, he replied 'Yes & I'm having pizza' I hope he isn't too disappointed when he realises he isn't getting pizza. My hubby & I left after the photos, both my DD's made sure he felt included, which was very kind of them & my son & SIL both made special effort to talk to him & it was so busy it would have been easy not to.
I'm off for a cuppa now.
    Hugs Hester

    Afternoon all,

I'm going to have a lazy day today as I can't motivate myself to do any housework on this dull cold, wet and miserable day. I actually had the house tidy(ish) yesterday as I was working from home.

Today's not as tidy but don't really care.

Got up pretty late at 9:45am, DH made breakfast for me and DS(3). Got washed/dressed then packaged up to Ebay items. Finally left the house around 12 noon.

Posted items at the post office, paid council tax, got a form for my dad and restocked up on recorded delivery and proof of posting slips.

Went to Boots and got a free coke and returned item for a refund.

    Then to M&S.

    Then to Asda.

    Then to Homebase.

    Then to ToysRUs.

Then to KFC to pick up lunch.

    Finally got home at 1:50pm.

Put things away then dished out KFC.

Listed item on Ebay :T and have been sitting in bed since on laptop on MSE. :o

So glad it went well Hester.

    Happy Birthday Miss Crazychik

Well not had a very productive day so far. Had unexpected guest this morning who stayed quite a while. Then had to go to the Libray and then on to the School Uniform shop which is quite a way away as DD had lost her tracksuit bottoms and its way too cold to be outside just in shorts, she gets detention if she doesnt do PE so glad have got them over and done with.

Just about to finish up on here & then will bung some washing in. Will do some ironing this afternoon and will finish it tomorrow morning.

Chicken curry for tea then will have a log fire and chill watching SCD.

    Have a lovely Saturday.

Thank you for sharing Haribo, that has really really made me laugh!! :rotfl: I am quite forgetful too, but I am not going to forget that one in a hurry..:D:D

Hester, glad to hear that the wedding went fine.

Today has been a wash out really - we didn't go shopping as it's very wet and windy and oh so cold. We are still going for our meal though. I don't mind so much about the shopping, it's not my favourite way to pass an afternoon, and I don't have much in the way of liquid assets right now anyway (due to purchase of furniture).

The crumble was yum for brekky/lunch - it's mostly fruit anyway, so if you ignore the sugar and the butter, it's health food:rolleyes:

I've been to the recycling place and got rid of loads of junk - got totally soaked, never mind. At least the house is a lot tidier for it.

DLB, shame about the car's MoT. I always dread it....I hope that your estimation of the repair bill is spot on. Cars really can be such a drain on your finances. Sigh..

    Bye for now

Especially with the cost of fuel now - it's £1.12 a litre here!
