Hello 👋 well you know how things come in 3s I’ve had a 4s. New exhaust on car, new washing machine, motor burnt out on the Strimmer and my phone isn’t charging properly 🤦♀️. Paid out for car and washer but my friend is giving me a Strimmer. She is currently clearing out her mums house and said there were 2 there so I can have one (she doesn’t have a garden herself just a back yard). Took the phone to a local shop thinking it was the charging point but they checked it over and charging point plus battery ok. They suspect it is the latest update as the problem started when the update had just been done. It will charge (prefers to be upstairs and in the morning 🤣) but never gets to 100%. They suggested factory reset or wait for the next update. I’m waiting, my time is too precious for IT issues. So now the good stuff, been awarded £200 from a fund for extra swimming lessons for my son and the council are providing taxi transport for school journeys for my son for his first term. The pre loved uniform sale is 27July and a family member has contributed towards the uniform costs. I’ve had a letter from the water company reducing my payments by £11 a month (I knew they had put it up too much) and my energy payments are down £20 a month and still seem to be on target. I have also been offered an interest free, flexible loan from family to buy a new car. Mine is getting too small for our needs and is nearly 14 and I’ve been thinking about changing it over the summer before next mot due in the autumn. Have decided what I’m looking for just just now need to find one although plenty around as it’s a fairly popular car. The loan means I can skip saving for a deposit and also pay off more than the DD if I have a bit extra spare. My mortgage currently stands at £24,500 so I feel comfortable with that but would like an interest rate fall please as it’s a tracker so gets recalculated when the interest moves. Also in January it will drop to the SVR. Well that me up to date, hope everyone is well and enjoying the fact summer seems to have started ☀️SPC #023 SPC 12: £125.86:SPC 13: £214.98: SPC 14: £297.41 SPC 15: £237.27 SPC 16 £335.39; SPC 17 £662.09 SPC 18 £20MFW #21 Mortgage start Dec 2015 £79,950; June 2025 £19,394.00 2025 OP £1589/COLOR]/£2,000 MFiT T6 #3 £19070/£25,500 (72.82%%) MFiT T7 #3 £2050/£21,930 (9.34%)5

Winston looks lovely! Good news on the car loan.DON'T BUY STUFF (from Frugalwoods)
No seriously, just don’t buy things. 99% of our success with our savings rate is attributed to the fact that we don’t buy things... You can and should take advantage of discounts.... But at the end of the day, the only way to truly save money is to not buy stuff. Money doesn’t walk out of your wallet on its own accord.

Hello, well it’s nearly time for my son to start secondary school and uniform is all got, including second hand PE kit that looks like new from a local “sale” at the church. They didn’t ask for any money, just a donation to a local charity if you felt you could afford it. I got shorts, polo shirt and a rugby top for a £10 donation. I did spend £45 last week at the school outfitters though for blazer and tie. So I have a new car which has been funded through part of my savings and a family interest free loan, otherwise I couldn’t really have afforded one. My son managed to fracture his wrist a week ago so will be in a pot when he starts his new school. He fell at a holiday club and has something called a buckle fracture which I’d never heard of. Winston is now fully settled in his new home but is still an adolescent so has plenty still to learn. Sadly the cat who is 18 is at the end of life so I’m unsure how much longer she will be with us 😢. I’ve been struggling a bit to make overpayments over the last few months but I have managed to get the mortgage down to £23,999. The interest rate fall means money off my monthly payments of £19 although no adjustment for August payment which I thought would be pro rata. Let’s see what happens in September, otherwise I may be pointing them to the letter they sent me. I finish work on Friday for 2 weeks which I’m looking forward to as I really need a break. Hoping once school starts I can get back on top of payments and budgets again and really get cracking on with this mortgage 🤞SPC #023 SPC 12: £125.86:SPC 13: £214.98: SPC 14: £297.41 SPC 15: £237.27 SPC 16 £335.39; SPC 17 £662.09 SPC 18 £20MFW #21 Mortgage start Dec 2015 £79,950; June 2025 £19,394.00 2025 OP £1589/COLOR]/£2,000 MFiT T6 #3 £19070/£25,500 (72.82%%) MFiT T7 #3 £2050/£21,930 (9.34%)8

Sadly my beautiful Sybil passed on Saturday at the age of 18 😢. I was with her, just me and her, so it was quiet. I cuddled her and thanked her for being there for me. We have buried her in the garden and bought a lovely plant which I placed over her. I get paid on Friday thank goodness as accounts are about as low as I can remember them ever being. I have done a budget and food planning is done. I’ve made some stuff to fill the freezer and will definitely get back to batch cooking again. Winston was at the vets yesterday for a second round of boosters. Apparently the brand he had already been done with wasn’t compatible with their brand so he had to have 2 done. However there was no charge as what I paid a month ago covered them both apparently ( and that was a relief!). The vet also commented on his lovely condition which considering his state when we got him from the trainer was lovely to hear. Less than a week to go now for my son and the anxiety is starting to show a little in his behaviour but even so it is still better than I expected. We have a bet, if he can make the first half term with no red marks and go to bed on his own I will give him £11. I feel my money is safe as they hand out red marks for anything at that school. What he doesn’t know is I will be rewarding him for effort anyway 😁
