I'm not sure where you are in the county, but we know a lady who rescues hounds in Suffolk where we got our boy from, if that would be useful for you? I can pm her details if so 🙂

Have a fantastic Christmas and hope DS has a great day x

    That's a lovely long break.

We had a dog and a cat - but with hindsight it wasn't fair on the cat. It was so much happier once my Ex took the dog and became a different cat, a lot friendlier and less nervous. The cat stood up to the dog - who just wanted to play with it - but would do quite vicious swipes at the dog with or without claws which at times also made me worry for the dog.

Already asking myself when do the kids go back to school 🤦‍♀️. Not til the 8th by the way.  I’ve changed my broadband today but same price.  Supposed to be faster speed using fibre rather than old landline.  I’ve also changed mobile sim via a mse offer; number should get ported on the 3rd.  I’ve given myself some tough but doable targets for 2024.  To pay off credit card, get mortgage below £20k at the end of the year and also to have a total of £10k in savings.  Ok so it will be tight but fingers crossed I can do it.  No news on a hound yet but the right one will find its way to us.  At least one rescue is talking to me 🐕

Only just caught up with your diary and wanted so say I’m so sorry about the loss of your dog, they leave such a big hole in your life when they go. I hope the right rescue finds it’s way to you in the new year to bring a bit of joy back 🙂

Well I managed to get my two fruit trees pruned this afternoon before the rain started again so that’s something else off the to do list.  I’ve made a list of what I would like to achieve in 2024 and I’m currently reading a couple of allotment books I got for Christmas.  I think I might have enough compost in the bins to make one no dig bed to move the raspberries into, they are in completely the wrong place (inherited with the plot).  I had a call from the rescue yesterday.  They are collecting a hound in the next few days that has reportedly been living with a cat with no issues.  They are taking it to their kennels to settle it and properly assess it.  If it passes a cat assessment then she will be ours.  Unfortunately my son overheard the conversation and as much as I keep reminding him she might not be cat friendly he seems to be ignoring this 🤦‍♀️.  They said they will be back in touch in about a week with an update.  Just taken some scones out of the oven and will be making leek and feta parcels for tea.  One aim for the year is to try and reduce food waste.
