Thank you! I couldn’t believe 2/3 off in 1/2 time. Yes - the rates are scarily high for some people right now. I'm trying to maximise my savings (and pension) between now and when my fix ends so that I have future options. Well done on all you have achieved.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality by mid 2030

My gorgeous Hetty was put to sleep yesterday after a fall down the stairs resulted in a broken leg. Sadly at fourteen and a half with a failing heart there was no other option. My heart is broken into a million pieces. Run free my sweet girl and thank you for your love 💔🌈 xxxGrocery challenge SPC #023 SPC 12: £125.86:SPC 13: £214.98: SPC 14: £297.41 SPC 15: £237.27 SPC 16 £335.39; SPC 17 ? So sorry re Hetty - always impossibly painful to lose a pet.. No doubt she is in dog heaven chasing rabbits and bounding around happily...
There will always be a (beautiful stilettoed) foot in fabulous in LaPlan's life.
I am choosing to be fabulously frugal to support some wonderful life changing and affirming financial goals including buying a London home I love.
DON'T BUY STUFF (from Frugalwoods)
No seriously, just don’t buy things. 99% of our success with our savings rate is attributed to the fact that we don’t buy things. You can’t really hack your way to frugal. You can and should take advantage of discounts, coupons, rewards points, and the like. But at the end of the day, the only way to truly save money is to not buy stuff. Money doesn’t walk out of your wallet on its own accord.

Yesterday we went to the pictures and then had fish and chips as a treat. I hadn’t booked a panto this year so I made this an alternative. Been struggling over the last month as only one rescue out of six I’ve contacted has actually got back to me and it’s all down to the fact I’ve got a 17.5 year old cat. Two of the rescues I looked at online have on their webpage if you have a cat don’t even contact us. I did speak to one lady and there maybe a potential hound but as she didn’t have it in her care at that time she was unsure regarding the cat friendly element as it was just a report from their current owner (of 3 months). I will find out after Christmas but even if this one isn’t suitable she will keep me in mine for any other potential hounds. I won’t be overpaying as much next year as I’m prioritising savings; Alex starts secondary school in September and my car is 13 years old so it seems sensible. I’ve got a break from work until 8th January so that will be nice and I’m looking forward to getting a rest (from work at least!). Hope you all have a happy Christmas 🎄Grocery challenge SPC #023 SPC 12: £125.86:SPC 13: £214.98: SPC 14: £297.41 SPC 15: £237.27 SPC 16 £335.39; SPC 17 ?
