Morning people! Just having a little break from work to do a quick update. Squirrelz92 thank you for your kind words! Yes I’m very pleased that I got the job before all this current carry on happened! Not quite how I expected my new team to be working but at least I know they are all there on our Slack channel and will respond to queries. I’m glad I’m not looking now; we had 314 applications for 7 posts the department advertised in August. I collected the bike I’ve got my son for Christmas yesterday from one neighbour and have stored it in another neighbours garage away from small people! It’s payday for me tomorrow so I’m going to order the advent calendar and next year’s calendar along with a diary; I expect these items to be the new toilet roll as everyone looks forward. I’m currently not under any local lockdown but the neighbouring county is and I won’t be surprised if I'm wfh until Easter at this rate. Still looking at those silver linings of no commute and the money I’m saving in petrol costs. Hoping to make an overpayment tonight of the remaining September salary and I’ve reworked my budget for October. I’m hoping, fingers crossed to get the mortgage down to 50k by the end of October. I will have to borrow a little bit from another account on a temporary basis but with the remortgage date being 1st November this is my current priority. The cat is putting some weight back on and is becoming more vocal. She’s hassling me now whenever I go into the kitchen as she knows the good stuff is in the cupboard; it’s lovely 🐈SPC #023 SPC 12: £125.86:SPC 13: £214.98: SPC 14: £297.41 SPC 15: £237.27 SPC 16 £335.39; SPC 17 £662.09 SPC 18 £20MFW #21 Mortgage start Dec 2015 £79,950; June 2025 £19,394.00 2025 OP £1589/COLOR]/£2,000 MFiT T6 #3 £19070/£25,500 (72.82%%) MFiT T7 #3 £2050/£21,930 (9.34%)6

Just done a quick check on my new mortgage rate so I can do some calculations. I’m a lucky girl as the rate I got at the beginning of the month is no longer offered! My documents state fixed rate of 1.64 up to 31/12/22 but now the advertised offer on the webpages is 1.99; still good but glad I got the cheaper deal 😉SPC #023 SPC 12: £125.86:SPC 13: £214.98: SPC 14: £297.41 SPC 15: £237.27 SPC 16 £335.39; SPC 17 £662.09 SPC 18 £20MFW #21 Mortgage start Dec 2015 £79,950; June 2025 £19,394.00 2025 OP £1589/COLOR]/£2,000 MFiT T6 #3 £19070/£25,500 (72.82%%) MFiT T7 #3 £2050/£21,930 (9.34%)6

Great news about your son's bike for Christmas. How lovely of your neighbours to store it for you until the big event
You are right about every cloud having a silver lining with saving commuting costs! Wish that applied to me as I have had to work throughout being in the meat industry but I can only imagine how much it must help those who travel a fair distance to work 5 times a week! Great news for securing the cheaper deal!

Thanks Squirrelz92 yes it’s really kind of my neighbours. They have no grandchildren and often spoil my son with small gifts like books so they were more than happy to help out; they also know how nosey he is! Payday for me 🥳 so I’ve just paid £125 off the mortgage that was left from September. Big push for October to try and get to the 50k mark for remortgage day.SPC #023 SPC 12: £125.86:SPC 13: £214.98: SPC 14: £297.41 SPC 15: £237.27 SPC 16 £335.39; SPC 17 £662.09 SPC 18 £20MFW #21 Mortgage start Dec 2015 £79,950; June 2025 £19,394.00 2025 OP £1589/COLOR]/£2,000 MFiT T6 #3 £19070/£25,500 (72.82%%) MFiT T7 #3 £2050/£21,930 (9.34%)7

How has it been a month since I last posted? ah that thing called life getting in the way 😉. This week I have made an overpayment of £500 which I took out of a savings account that I can replace over the next two months. Towards the end of this week I will make a final overpayment out of remaining salary to bring the mortgage balance down to £49,950 by the end of October. Yes folks I’ve managed to do it! 🥳. I will have paid off £30,000 in 5 years all on my own and it feels gooooooooood. The remortgage kicks in on 1st November and it is actually fixed until 31st December 2022 so a little over the advertised 2 years. The new rate is 1.64% so it’s quite a bit lower than my original deal and it should save me around £95 per month on my payment; more for the overpayment pot. So the end of phase one is nigh. Phase 2 is the new 2 year deal and then phase 3 is chuck everything at it to get rid of it. Phase 2 and 3 should hopefully be no longer than phase 1. The cat is making good progress and things have really settled down with my son’s behaviour and his learning following discussions with school. Half term this coming week so hoping the good work is maintained. School are lending us a Chromebook at the weekends and holidays so he can practise spelling and maths using these apps they have but it looks like I will have to save up for one but it’s no longer a high priority. Exciting week coming up for me, new mortgage deal, day off on Thursday for my birthday, sealed pot opening day also on Thursday and then all rounded off with MOT of Friday ☹️SPC #023 SPC 12: £125.86:SPC 13: £214.98: SPC 14: £297.41 SPC 15: £237.27 SPC 16 £335.39; SPC 17 £662.09 SPC 18 £20MFW #21 Mortgage start Dec 2015 £79,950; June 2025 £19,394.00 2025 OP £1589/COLOR]/£2,000 MFiT T6 #3 £19070/£25,500 (72.82%%) MFiT T7 #3 £2050/£21,930 (9.34%)8
