Sounds exciting. I wish we had moved somewhere rural when the kids were little. We still want to move somewhere rural by the sea - but need DD to be able to cope too and she would hate it. Not financially in a position to do it yet though so trying to start where we are by doing a veg plot etc. We already have a dog and cat...

I’ve made a final May OP today of £311 which brings the outstanding balance down to £54,999.80.  It is so satisfying to drop below another 1K milestone (and move another marble).  I’ve given myself an ambitious target through to the October payment as I remortgage on 31st October.  I decided to generate some good out of this current situation and even though food is costing me more everything else is less or non existent, such as petrol and days out so that’s heading towards the OP pot.  Went to tosco’s yesterday, nightmare.  Everyone just seems to have a go or be complaining when I go there.  As I’ve taken leave on 1 & 2 June when my son is back at school I’ll do a massive grocery shop then and hopefully will just need to shop local for fresh stuff for the rest of the month.  He should go back as he’s going under the vulnerable children tag and will be in with the key worker children but our school seems very supportive of getting pupils back in.  Other parents I know who have eligible children seem to be sending them back.  My neighbour has a daughter in year 6 so she is looking forward to going back as she feared that she might not see the school again and just move to the secondary school in September; she was smiling when I saw her yesterday and her younger sister in year 4 was saying she wants to go back too.  We had a work zoom meeting yesterday, well really it was just a catch up, and it was so lovely to see my colleagues faces!  Obviously I had my boy sat on my knee the whole time but now they can see what I am  up against.  I had to keep telling him to be quiet as the audio was on and you never know what gems they will come out with!  We have all resigned ourselves to the fact we will not see the office again until at least September which is sad and then it will probably be split shifts as it were.  My managers main concern was we think one of the plants has been left behind in the office so that will sadly have died by now.  So sat watching the wind destroy my garden; if it’s not the dog or child them it’s the weather.  Ah well at least the washing is still on the line 😁

Well done on the OP. Only you can decide what's right or your child and no-one knows for sure either way. Hope it gives you a lift. One of my sisters is desperate to send her DS back too and is gutted as his school aren't opening yet. Another sister ha been advised not to send hers back due to medical needs. Everyone is in a slightly different situation.

Well today is my last working day before he goes back to school as I’m on leave Thursday and Friday.  I’m just waiting for his start and finish times then we will work out a new routine.  He is looking forward to going back even though he knows it will be very different.  Pay day for me on Friday so I can work out June’s budget.  I’ve got some money put to one side for the balance of our two nights away that I’ve managed to rearrange for the end of August.  I think I might use the “days out” fund to pay the balance as this hasn’t been touched much this year and probably won’t be for the rest of 2020.  A bit more for the mortgage pot 😃

Just made an overpayment of £300 and hoping for more later in the month.  I have also just typed a long post which disappeared of its own accord on this blooming system.  Upshot was email about redundancy, dept meeting on Friday to assure us we were ok as our roles are business critical.  Food budget out of control so will be going back to Aldi despite queues. School seems to be going ok but not normal so difficult for a 7 year old to grasp what is going on around him.  Going to post this quickly before this one disappears too!
