Oh my word! What a fantastic time we had; the best day ever according to my son. He found out about 6:30 am Friday morning when he asked if he could see his cousin, I said no so strop ensued obviously so I just put on the 2018 YouTube video of last year’s highlights and told him that was where we were going in about an hour and a half. We saw cars, cars and more cars and dancing diggers! The evening was amazing and my boy was subjected to the ritual humiliation of Mum dancing; better he gets it over with early on in life and it was Sister Bliss Ibiza Faithless DJ set, followed by the Jacksons.

I don’t think we even got half way round there was so much stuff going on. I even came home with some money left :D

Hi Wishing, yes I think we will. Maybe when he’s a bit older we might consider camping as well but at the moment the thought of 3 potentially wet and cold days in a tent with a six year old fills me with dread. He’s going to stay with my friend on Thursday night for a sleep over so I’m looking forward to a rare rest, but my to do list is already extensive.

I’m going to have a couple of months saving rather than mortgaging although it may still get odd bits. I’ve been a bit spendy (again!) but this time it’s for the good of my health, hopefully. I have ordered an Emma mattress. I’ve looked at them before and although they get fantastic reviews they are expensive, well they have 35% off at the moment. I’ll never get better than that so I’ve ordered one. My current mattress is 15 years old and every morning I get up with a stiff back which eases out once I’m up so I suspect the lumpy old thing is to blame. I’ve also ordered a pillow as well to get good neck support, that should arrive tomorrow. To complete the package I’ve just ordered two bed sets. Again I should point out I currently have two bedding sets and they are about ten years old. They were very expensive and bought when I earned more than I do now but they have got tears in the fabric now. So spendy all round but not a regular occurrence. I’m just looking forward to a decent nights sleep :)

I’ve also got another interview :D. The lady that rang for a chat last week emailed today to arrange an interview. Just waiting for confirmation of a time but have a friend lined up to look after my son. Another job I applied for closes today so wait and see if I hear from that one. Pulled a couple more into my job search account. Well off for a lumpy sleep now :rotfl:

Getting yourself a new mattress is a great investment. Like you, we had a 17 year old mattress which had definitely seen better days. I used to wake up every day sore and aching. I finally convinced my husband we should buy a new one and we have never looked back. We both sleep better and never feel sore, only refreshed. Just a little warning though: you may not want to get out of it! :) Enjoy!

Oh my, what a wonderful mattress! Got out of bed this morning with no backache for probably the first time in two years. My boy is having a sleepover at my best friend’s house so I’m going to do a meal plan and then off to bed for another good sleep. Just over paid £40 but that might be it for the month, depends on Prolific really. There will some money diverted to savings once I’ve done the budget and then it’s just a case of sticking to the budget.....easy

Great news re the mattress. We invested in a decent bed 10-13 years ago - and genuinely are still thrlled with it. Enjoy yours. Car fest sounds amazing. Good luck with the interview too.
