  • That will help you with your mortgage payments then............I hope for your sake it doesn't stay empty for too long:rolleyes:

Not a problem, will have someone in as soon as the current tenant leaves (S21 already served), currently renting for £800, WILL rent for £900 no problem.

Actually, the instability of renting is the reason why I would NEVER rent !

You must rent to rich !!!!!!s then.
Most people only take home £1000/month (well, the lucky ones do).
If I paid £900/month rent, there'd be enough for council tax and not even enough to turn the water/electrics on.

    Why was the S21 served?

£750-£800 is an absolute minimum in Watford/Rickmansworth
  • I suppose it depends where it is.
    Those rents look cheap.
People here ask questions but never say "where" and as we know, location, location, location is very important.

The rents may look cheap but it is an area where houses are relatively cheap. £80K will still buy a decent 2 or 3 bedroom house. Wages are no lower than many more expensive areas.

Oh, and SquatNow, thanks again. Maybe I could let my two spare bedrooms to tenants at £250pcm all bills included.Maybe I could let my BTL to four different people and do the same. I'd be about £1,000 pcm better off.

    There again, maybe I won't.

    GG
There are 10 types of people in this world. Those who understand binary and those that don't.

With a slowdown in the housing market and people looking to rent reather than buy, is this a good opportunity for the BTL'ers to increase the rents to more realistic levels?

Another joker in the pack... guess what with all the bearish stories on the news and in the papers and the imminent closure of northern rock, these BTL's have got to hang on by their finger nails at some point. Even it means coming on here with a stupid question to rile the bears.
  • Why was the S21 served?

To give the tenant two months notice that I require possession of the property.

To rent at a higher cost, or simply unsavoury tenants that you wanted out?
