Hope all is sorted quickly, Goodintentions.
Did nothing yesterday except flop around until the evening, when one of my friends came to collect me for choir. I had wanted to go, as it's the nicest, gentlest way to think of getting back into dealing with being outside and around people. As we're doing a requiem this term, it did feel a bit intense singing the Kyrie, but the genius of the composer in the tiny changes from minor to major tonality in the different parts made absolute sense in changing the feel/emotions.
Currently bumbling around following my first night with a sleeping tablet - the GP phoned yesterday morning, swore profusely in sympathy when I told him what had happened and left a sick note and prescription for a week/for Himself to collect. It didn't work for the first couple of hours, despite the claims of working within 20 minutes, but when it did, it really did - the only thing that woke me was the apparent punchup happening on the building site next door at 11.30am. That seems to have finally stopped now.
Just been presented with food. Bleurgh.I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.Yup you are officially Rock n Roll0 -
Love to Jojo
Fingers crossed for bro GI
I started cleaning my bedroom. While I was clearing the chairdrobe it occurred to me I could use some of the fabric my sister gave me (she gave me two lots, same fabric, in a brown and a sky blue) to make a new slip cover for the chair - given the last time I made a cover I was pregnant and DS is 26 in September.
I've *almost* completed it, a combination of machine sewing and hand sewing. And it's a pale brown almost the same shade as my headboard. So that's two items made, a blue peg bag and a brown slipcover. There won't be much brown left so stash clearance has happened too!
Update - completed; chair back in bedroom. V pleased with effect - and doubly pleased with the idea of actually doing it using this fabric. Feel like I have achieved something.Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016
Thank you Honey Bear0 -
Thanks for the positive vibes
Bro is out of surgery - it seemed like a long time before we got the message to update us! He has a small leak, which should heal on its own, but he has the tracky back in, so can't speak, and various drains and lines in again. he is nil by mouth for a week, so will be in for at least that long. I know he would rather be at home, but I think he is in the best place. They can keep an eye on him and get him better
This evening we have removed the drawers in the kitchen - tea towels all need washing (job for tomorrow). The cupboard under the sink has also been emptied - it is gross! It had obviously been leaking longer and worse than we had thoughtWe have binned quite a lot of stuff, and the bottom of the cupboard is rotten. I am ashamed to say there were slugs and woodlice!!! I will speak to 'Bob' to see what we can do - I can't really replace one unit in the middle of the run!
Lots to do tomorrow now! And I am now working in the morning as a favour as i should have been off!! Oh well - onwards and upwards!!
Hugs to you JoJo0 -
26 year old bedroom chair slip cover binned...fling!
Have also ironed what I pegged out today which wasn't quite dry when I brought it back in ahead of the storm.
So, while I didn't clean my bedroom I did change the bed and update the soft furnishings:rotfl:

Just lost a post
More (((hugs))) to Jojo - music is a great healer of the mind xx
Posivibes for your brother, Goodintentions xx
I have done odd bits of flying today, around Toddler Group and a visit to a care home to see the mother of my friend who died in January.
Rosie and I walked to the other woods today (usually taken over in the school holidays by groups of bored youngsters, but it had just been raining so they had all gone home) and found it carpeted with English bluebells at their best
Rosie is refusing to go outside before bedtime, but I am not getting up to let her out at 3.00 so she *will* go, even if I have to carry her!
Tomorrow: coffee with a friend0 -
I did absolutely nothing yesterday as we got a call yesterday to find our landlord wants to take back the property as he has an employee that he wants to move in
So our lovely first home we have moved into as a couple, has to be vacated by the middle of July. I don't know if I can bear the thought of having to pack up and move everything less than a year after having moved into where we are now
It's such a beautiful house, a converted village hall in a lovely area, gutted doesn't begin to describe it!
The washing basket was overflowing this morning but I managed to separate it into two loads so it should all get done whilst I am at work today. I will give the house a good blitz tomorrow evening as we have friends coming over on Sunday so I want the house to be spotless0 -
Morning all
I have decided to get my new sewing machine out today and hopefully try it out. Old kitchen table has been put back into service as a sewing table in the library in a lovely light spot. I have a pile of T shirts I would like to make into quilt or cushions, but also have some cotton to make a simple sleeveless top so might try that.
Not sure how much flying will get done but does sorting out huge pile of old tshirts count.
Have anice day and don't forget to SMILE0 -
I hope you're feeling a bit better today, Pigpen.
(((Hugs))) Jojo.
*Healing vibes* for your brother, GI.
More *healing vibes* for your ankle and squashed bits, Round.
Busy day yesterday, all of it out and about so nothing done on the Flying front other than my normal dailies. Feeling a bit sluggish today, so Layla and I (after another mini-growling incident last night) are back in my office clearing some jobs off the paperwork mountain list. Her tummy's still dodgy, so I'm still hoping that's the reason. Worrying though, because OH doesn't realise how serious this could be and I'm supposed to go to London tomorrow for a couple of days leaving him in charge of the animals.Better is good enough.0 -
Hugs to all those in need.
Friend's spare key decluttered to her dog-sitter who has mislaid her set...
WM & DW on.
Coffee x 2
Looking forward to Mr A delivery this afternoon as the cupboards are bare - early afternoon job is to clean inside of cupboards and entire fridge and meal plan for the next 2 weeks. I am bad at doing this but MUST get back into the routine.
My other job is to fold the mountain of clean washing... this will be fun as DS has made me a folding board which is still very much a novelty! Simple things eh.
Back later

SSDD ask re you having to leave the house on the housing board there are some very knowlegable folk on that forum, who can advise you if it is legal or not. They will need to know things like when did you sign your agreement, is there a break clause, how long did you sign for, how did the LL inform you to leave etc.
Walking done, but I am not feeling very fit, time to up sometihng but not sure what.
Been to hospital for an eye test
