Considering the only other possible offences have been checked off (insurance proved, no drugs, alcohol etc) i can't honestly believe that it is anything other than a trick question because the answer is obvious. Why spend 2 pages talking about wearing glasses/not wearing glasses if that isn't what the offence is?
What offence code will go on his licence after the prosecution?

LC20 or MS70 are the basic options, perhaps MS80 depending on how badly he failed the attitude test at the roadside.0 -
Let's put it another way.

In his youth he was in their company a bit. Tried the whole big-man attitude thing, realised it got him nowhere fast. Distanced himself from 'friends', moved on in life, grew up & now takes a different approach.
So when he was lifted it was a case of yes sir no sir. Anything to speed the process up & get him on his way ASAP. Give me your number because i don't like your tone doesn't fit in with getting on his way ASAP so he didn't go for it. He just put it down to the fact that some coppers are jobsworth A-holes thinking they're special because they're a cop and other coppers (like the passenger) actually possess people skills.Other than that concentrate on getting the evidence to the DVLA to get the marker removed. Keep the original for himself in the event that he wants to challenge it in court.
Supplying the evidence to the police, if they are the ones prosecuting or the CPS might make it end on the basis of not being in the public interest which is the other test for prosecution.0 -

I wonder what the chances are of this getting as far as the central ticket office before being picked up and quietly filed in the bin.
Whilst many officers knowledge of traffic legislation is questionable there should be a point in the process that has a 'gatekeeper' to head off any mistakes.....0 -

The copper was basically being an A-hole, end of.
I'm not taking exception, nor on the side of da coppers or Bob.
But what I do know is that you said earlier "I was never there". And you're presenting the copper's A-holeness as fact. It's not - you weren't there so are just relaying on Bob's biased retelling of the story.
You do see that? (you don't need glasses on to see it)0 -

Sit down & read this one slowly...
You do realise don't you that Bob & I clearly know each other in person. This isn't a whole internet thing like what you and i have going on & the rest of the people here where the default setting between us all is to never believe what the next man says, especially when he says it on the MSE forum.
I've known Bob for over 25 years. If he'd have given the copper attitude that warranted the copper being an A-hole then he'd have told me & had a giggle about it. I'd have then maybe left that bit out when retelling the story to you guys and just bullet pointed it - Bob was stopped, licence was looked at, points were given (or at least he'll receive a letter).
So no, i don't need glasses you smart ar$£ to see that if Bob had acted up in any way at all he'd have happily told me as he has done in the past where he's been at fault in situations. I can see quite clearly without glasses that if Bob tells me it happened like ABC then i know for sure it happened like ABC because if it'd been any different he'd have told me.
If your mother tells you she was chatting to Betty down the street the other day do you stop her and say now hang on a minute mother, perhaps it was Mavis you were speaking to because i'm an insecure person who always thinks everyone is lying to me.
Or maybe you do.
I'll let you have the last word as i've made my point :beer:0
