True, I guess I took it as read that people would, but maybe that's just me!

I honestly believe that most motorists wouldn’t know what they look like or have any idea as to where they might be sited. They sail in, park, then leave (inside or naively outside signed limits), after which the proverbial can hit the fan and the shock to the system occurs.

Even Mrs U needs to have them pointed out at the supermarkets we use. By the time we return to the UK, there’s a further re-education process, as well as checking to see if there are any new arrangements.

This year at least 6 hitherto ‘unmanaged’ sites are now infested. You couldn’t get a nasty virus to proliferate that quickly!

*Update* The leisure centre have responded and asked for a copy of the PCN and Whoosh payment receipt. BW Legal have refused to put the proceedings on hold until the SAR is complete but I anticipated that from reading the newbie thread. Thanks for everyone's help so far!

Tell them you’re taking debt advice and they have to put your case on hold.

Do a forum search on keywords debt advice and follow previous advice.

HOW TO USE THE FORUM SEARCH FUNCTION:

Hit your 'Back' button to get back to the forum thread list. On the bar just above the threads you'll see the 'Search' function. Click on the 'Advanced Search' button and on the following page place your keyword(s) in the 'Search By Keyword(s)' and make sure the 'Show Results As' button (at the foot of the window) is changed from 'Threads' to 'Posts'.

Email received from the leisure centre....

"On discussing your case with the manager he is in agreement that you have received the PCN as you have stayed longer that the 3 hours you have paid for. [7 mins]
    !
We do understand that this may have been an oversite therefore we can ask the Parking company to cancel the PCN. However they do charge us an admin fee of £15 to do so.

If you would like to cover this fee we can go ahead and submit the notice for cancellation.!

The payment can be made at reception in person or by phone. If you let me know the best number and time to call you I can ask the receptionist to call you if that helps."

Should I just pay it and call it a day?

1)-Period of stay is not the same as period of parking
2)-Parking Charge Ltd are members of the BPA's AOS so they have to allow a 10 minute grace period to leave the car park.

    I agree with the others.

Google the BPA CoP, search it (Control & F) for 'grace period' and copy & paste the relevant bits about a 'minimum of ten minutes' into your reply and tell the Leisure Centre that their agents have breached their own CoP and therefore are in breach of the contract the Leisure centre has with PCL, who are no doubt contracted on the basis that they comply with the BPA CoP.

Tell them that a minimum 10 minute grace period is standard across the country (private and public highway apply the same) and for PCL to be processing the registered keeper's data on the basis of just seven minutes past paid-for time is actually unlawful under the GDPR and you expect the Leisure Centre to admonish their agent and refuse to pay £15 in a case where the PCN should never have been issued at all.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

*update* I haven't received the SAR from PCL. The leisure centre have refused to wave the £15 but have said they will pass my concerns onto PCL. I havent received any further communication from BW Legal either.

Still no SAR from PCL and no further communication from BW Legal. Is it safe for me to assume that this has all been put to bed or should I get in contact with them?

If more than 30 days have passed since you submitted your SAR then it is time for a complaint to the ICO, send an e-mail to the DPO at the PPC informing them that you originally submitted it on DD/MM/YY and since 30 days have passed, you are reporting them to the ICO.

Thanks. Could you please elaborate. Lots of acronyms that I'm not familiar with.
