Why is my phone using data?
Comments
-
Because it's just as much a techie question as it is a mobiles question and that forum is mainly used to discuss mobile phone providers, deals etc.LadyDee, why have you chosen this board to ask your question?
Surely the most suitable board would be the Mobile Phones Board?0 -
And in any case most "technical" problems only exist between keyboard and chair

Make sure apps can only update over wifi and not over mobile data0
-
On my version of android its settings/data usage then a 'switch' at the top for Mobile Data.0
-
Is it sending long texts, gifs or photos as MSM? That would cost more.0
-
I have now discovered that resetting my phone caused the data connection to default to "on". Now turned off and all's well. Thank you to those who made helpful suggestions.0
-
So you didn't consider it relevant to inform the board that you had reset your phone before posting? If you'd posted you'd done that somebody would probably picked up on the fact that data is on by default and you wouldn't have had a wave of unhelpful posts.
With all due respect we're not mind readers.0 -
Well I had to phone virgin to get data switched off (payg) even thoug it was switc hed off in settings. Please dont post this is not possible, because I know it is.0
-
Really? If data is switched off it is off. Isn't it?"The Holy Writ of Gloucester Rugby Club demands: first, that the forwards shall win the ball; second, that the forwards shall keep the ball; and third, the backs shall buy the beer." - Doug Ibbotson0
