Have read through your diary from p1 and wanted to say congratulations! Your username reflects your attitude so well; and I think, having been on a huge debt clearing exercise, that being able to look on the bright side is such a help. I've heard it said that it's better to be born lucky than rich; neither in my opinion beats getting your feet on the ground and budgeting, but having a sunny outlook is the best luck of all, I think. I often think about the queen mother being 4 million quid overdrawn when she died; if true, it really goes to show that it's not about how much money you have, but about mindset. Love your writing too. I'm sure you'll soon have the debt behind you and am subscribing. Humdinger

  • The weekend was quiet, I should have been taking the parentals for a trip North to see friends , but that didn't happen because of the weather.

I worked 5 days last week so needed to catch up with housework and washing. Did my shopping today with dad , went to HB for some cleaning bits.

Collected a dress from M@S bought with 20% off given by a friend.

Most people don't like the dark nights but I don't mind them too much , maybe I'm weird.

Prepared my breakfast and lunch for tomorrow. May go to see about sorting my phone contract in the evening , it's up now but may just renew for a newer phone at the same price , not sure yet, some thought needed.

I don’t mind the dark evenings this side of Christmas as there’ll be a special brightness with the Christmas decorations but I’m not too keen after Christmas and look forward to March when the brighter nights appear.
Hope you’ve decided what to do about your phone.

I'm like milann - I like the dark nights on the run up to Christmas with all the lights, etc. After the New Year it all seems a bit blah and miserable!

Hope you sort your phone out and get a good deal.

  • Not much to report , another NSD , personal spends still intact , haven't been anywhere this week apart from work and home.

Childcare tomorrow as normal , best day of the week.
