Well done DIA on snatching victory from defeat after a shaky start :T. It's amazing how eating a few frogs and having a tidy up can lift your mood.
I think an uncluttered house helps me to have an uncluttered mind (that probably explains why my mind feels cluttered at the moment :rotfl:).
I think you're right to tell the fascia man where to go. Our builder always gives us a quote in writing if we ask for one, although we've been using him for years and trust him. I wish we could send him your way, as he does almost any job from building work, plastering, electrics, kitchen fitting, etc, he even built us a lovely back gate from scratch. Finally Debt Free After 34 Years, But Still Need to Live Frugally

I hope you are feeling better tomorrow DIA . Are you spending Christmas with relatives.
On the squirrel front , one was on my windowsill two days ago eating. He got short shrift and was gone in a minute. Let's hope they aren't coming back.
Have a good Christmas .Life is an adventure, never stop exploring.0 -
You achieved loads. Definitely the right decision not to go with the builder who wouldn't give you a written quote "Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee0

At the end of the day that sounds like a productive day - even if it involved an amount of hesitancy early doors

Most of us are very, very, lucky in one way or another. I sometimes read diaries where the posters are determined to find the negative in every situation. I don't want to be like that so I am not concentrating on woe is me I'm concentrating on the positive. So there.
Grateful for:
A good night’s sleep
A dry start to the day
A jumper on sale
I organised an internet shop last night. This shop sells lovely frozen mackerel from England not China like most places. More (sustainable) wild fish for me next year. All the Christmas food was being sold off so I bought a tin of biscuits for half price.
I appreciate the selection of goods, packing, carrying and driving to my door for £2 so much more now I am driving again!
A busy day. I want to get my eyebrows done, buy some pyjamas, get some wrapping paper and black bin bags for decluttering to name but a few things on my list. Washing machine is going as I type.
I hope to get some YS bargains to fill the freezer today, but I have enough so if it doesn’t work out.
Happy Christmas everyoneIf you have built castles in the air, your work should not be lost; that is where they should be. Now put the foundations under them

It's definitely important to be positive DIA and there are ALWAYS more positives than negatives if you list them
. It's just that people tend to focus on the negatives which magnifies them out of all proportion.
I hope you get everything done that you want to and have a lovely Christmas eve. :xmassign::xmassmile:rudolf:Finally Debt Free After 34 Years, But Still Need to Live Frugally

Hi there DIA. Hope you had a good day yesterday. The weather was lovely, for a change. Not so good today, but we are still going to walk to the pub in our waterproofs ,if need be.
Gratitude is a great attitude to have. It cancels out the negativity. However we can't be positive all the time and life does suck sometimes. As long as you are not negative all the time, like you said,it doesn't hurt to have a rant from time to time.
Sorry to hear about the job. Mine is going well, but they lost the contract so will probably end in March when my contract ends. Just getting into the swing of it. Oh well,Charities and funding!!! Am sure something will come along.
Glad you 'binned' the facia man. My husband is a carpenter and always completes estimates for jobs, unless its a day rate.
Have a good day.
Onwards and upwards.
