Now that post is sounding quite !!!!!y to me tbh
Not once have I not applauded you, I have said its great that you have done it, I have congratulated you on doing it
But I still have my reservations, yet rather then explaining how it was done, you have resorted to petty pot shots
Seriously you are not telling me that if someone posted up your shopping list and said - feed yourself for a week on that, and that alone, you would want to know a lot more?
My opinion is so uniformed because you are not supplying the information
Now if asking questions is against the ethos of this board, someone forgot to send me the memo[/QUOTE
I really don't know what your problem is.
I did not post YOUR shopping list and say feed yourself on that, I posted MY shopping list and what I ate, you choose not to believe it and then think I should prove it, I see no reason to or have any intention of proving anything to you. I would have been happy to photos and recipes up had I have received a polite request so No one forgo to send you an email but someone clearly forgot to teach you good manners.
Last Im saying is, you really do need to learn how to discuss and not attack0 -
With respect you are poorly informed on a number of points.
The fact is that some adults DO survive and DO work a full day on very limited calories: in the Third World, and in this country when crash dieting or during ramadan, for example. When fasting intermittently many people struggle to eat sufficient calories when 'breaking' the fast to catch up.
I suspect experiencing some hunger and monotony with the diet is an intentional part of the '50p a day for a week' challenge.
Given that you are the doubter it would make more sense for you to do the maths if you wish to know the OP's average daily calorie intake and average daily protein intake.
Oats are a surprisingly useful source of protein and even fat, they are not just carbohydrates. Root vegetables are higher in carbohydrates than many imagine, and again contain some protein.
The Self Nutrition Data website is very useful resource: you can adjust the quantities of each food type by weight or volume. Just add up the macronutrients or calories of everything on the shopping list and divide by seven.
Thankyou
At least you are explaining then rather saying Im wrong for doubting
Im no nutritionist. Im old school that says a plate of food should be part starch/carbohydrates, part protein and the rest of the plate veggies0 -
sorry for the delay open office crashed on me and I llost the file so couldn't post the list.A very clever little friend has recovered it for me.
I went over by 9p but was happy with that and very very lucky with the 19p veg. I was able to donate £25 to the food bank so was very pleased I did it.
:T Well done for sticking to your challenge :T and thank you very much for updating. :T
The whole thread has definitely been 'food for thought'.Declutterbug-in-progress.⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️0 -

Evidently.
IMO you were wrong to post your negative opinion instead of taking the time to research it, or phrase it as a nutrition/ dietetics question. You basically called Meg72 a liar.Declutterbug-in-progress.⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️0 -

I never did, never have done nor never will call someone a liar
I have obviously trodden on toes here because Ive not accepted whats been posted
I guess that makes me a very very bad person
As you say - opinion. My opinion does go with some on here, does that make my opinion wrong?
It is after all only an opinion0 -

You choose to interpret it that way.
As I see it, your comments were 'damning with faint praise' in that you congratulated meg on her achievements and then pulled it apart.
I think you've deliberately not understood her motives or looked for the healthy elements in the plan. Of course, I may be wrong and you just don't understand what other posters have noted.0 -

And that is your interpretation , and is your prerogative
However if you look at my posting history, you will see I don't go out of my way to make waves and I am usually extremely supportive and helpful to posters
Why I have been made out to be the bad guy here I really can not understand
I said at the start of this thread I could not see how 50p a day worked and so far I still can not see it. Yet because I express these views, Im the bad guy and yet Ive still not seen evidence to the conterary0 -

thank you too, for me it was definitely an eye opener into how some people have to live, I joined the foodsurviving on 50p a day on facebook and wept at some of the posts, I just thought if I could help a bit, I should, after all even on a very basic pension I`m well off compared to some. I think we get a bit complacent, like this is England welfare state and all that, no one goes hungry, it was a shock to me to read that they do, what I found the most heartbreaking was the fact that we do have hungry children in this our welfare state.Slimming World at target0 -

Will you please stop now and be a more opeminded? If 50p a day is all you have and you survive then it works, it should not be here in our welfare state, but it is a sad reality for some people.Ive received o many PMs today that think I should report your posts to MSE but I don't think that going to benefit anyone really and certainly not the children that will be going to bed hungry tonight and the parents that will cry for it.Slimming World at target0 -
Can I add that I have just received a message pop up on my screen from moneysavingexpert.com Head Office telling me to be nice to moneysavers due to a previous reply I wrote here.
Member suki1964 I assume it is a reply I made to yourself. You changed the tone of this thread yesterday evening. This was a very interesting thread and when I got to the end of it, your reply was the final one saying well done but that you are not accepting what has been written.
I think it wrong that the thread has taken this change of tone member suki1964, I really do.0
