Morning world 6/20, got up and made the kids (and me) pancakes for breakfast. That never happened when I had been on the booze on a Friday night.

Good luck with the laptop, mine totally bricked at the start of lockdown 1. Getting a new one was really difficult as everyone and his dog were buying new kit.

Thanks marahouti ... The laptop started giving me warnings in August that the hard disk was having problems so I got everything off it that I needed to and had the hard disk replaced. A month later it stopped working again and refused to boot or move off the BIOS screen so I took it in again and he said the BIOS had got corrupted and reinstalled Windows, but in that case I lost a few things, not too much fortunately because I hadn't had time to start saving material onto the laptop again. Then at the end of October my phone went kaput and the software had to be replaced - lost all the contacts and texts. A couple of days ago the memory stick I use to keep track of the challenge quite literally just broke. The metal bit that slots into the laptop's USB slot came away from the rest of the stick and stayed stuck in the computer and I had to get it out with tweezers. I rang the guy at the repair shop to ask if it could be put back together and he said it's pretty hard and probably not worth it. So I had to reconstruct the list for the challenge with all the coding etc. Then a day later the laptop died again! It was a refurbished laptop I bought a few years ago so I think probably it's just got too old. It's the third breakdown in as many months so I am taking that as a sign from on high that I really need a newer laptop. It's not been a great couple of months for technology breakdowns, that's for sure.
