Giving up/ Cutting Down Alcohol Thread Part 16

Up to 160! Yay!

I have been tempted this week, but like so many others say, once I've had dinner and had a cup of tea, the temptation just goes. My parents mind my kids and I have said to my dad to just make me a cup of tea without asking as if I have the cup in front of me, I am likely to drink it and then be less likely to then open a bottle. I know this sounds a bit demanding of me, haha, but he always makes tea after dinner. He has been tee total for a fair few years now and can't understand why I like drinking!

I will drink tonight though as I haven't all week. I have to pick up my daughter from a birthday party after work. It is meant to be a sleepover, but she doesn't cope well with sleepovers and so I am getting her at about 6pm. Part of me feels bad that I'm not planning on getting her at more like 8pm or 9pm (because I want that drink I've been waiting for all week), but she will have had a few hours at the party after school.

An Agent, which is where the electoral law buck stops so it's involved and a bit scary, but that's okay because I've had the training fairly recently and I've got a lot of people to refer back to if things get complicated. I met Ann Widdecombe last week at a briefing session for candidates and agents; pefectly pleasant even though we're involved with different parties. At a Brexit Summit in 2017 I met an agent for one of the parties and we get on really, really well. It's all very polite even if we believe completely different things and that's exactly as it should be. I hope it stays that way over the next few weeks, locally and nationally.

I think I have that recorded on my TiVo box, though I haven't got round to watching it yet. If it's too dark though I won't enjoy it either.

Honey Bear, I agree with you absolutely about the importance of this election and I know what you mean about wanting to avoid a dingdong but I wish there was room to discuss it because it does really matter. Having said that this really isn't the place for it (sadly) but I wish it was. Along with Shaggy I think we're involved with the same party!
