    maman I agree it would be good to have a civilised polite forum in which to discuss the election but I'm not sure such a forum exists :(. I dipped my toe in the water in an online discussion (not a MSE thread) and very quickly retreated, it was venomous :eek:.

    Sorry if I implied we should discuss politics on here. I just meant that if we can have a friendly, civilised thread then why not a politics thread in the same vein. Probably just a pipe dream. :(

    I'm off to Amsterdam tomorrow until Thursday for a short break . Will drink sensibly. :)

    maman, don't apologise, I wish we could discuss it in a civilised manner too, but at the moment the divisions are deep and bitter and that's making that nearly impossible anywhere. I salute your wish though. I wish the same! Have fun in Amsterdam x :)
