Morning all, 8/21 for me today thanks :)
  • Morning all. Thanks for the good wishes. Arkers hope your appointment goes well. Lovely that you have two weeks of sun to look forward to first. Things do seem to take forever but I suppose they want you to recover from the surgery first before starting anything else.

Had physio yesterday at same hospital whilst DD was admitted. Lots of scar massage which was nice but hate doing it myself. Tooth extraction went better than they thought. Think she is in for a rough few days but fingers crossed.

Am definitely getting off the mark today so 1/15please.
Total weight lost 6.5/73lbs starting yet again. Afds August 10/15. /8 Sept.

hey hoo afternoon all! Have had a lovely if brief trip away, flew back this morning, was tempted to drink on the plane but it was earlyish and I resisted, so it's 7/21. It's good to be back :)

Good to see you back. It's tempting when the drinks trolley comes round so well done for resisting. :T

I was tempted this afternoon and put a bottle in the fridge, but then I had to drive this evening twice, so that was that. So it’s sitting there tempting me tomorrow instead.

Once I’ve had dinner I’m not generally fussed about starting. So I need to eat early.

Sending positive AF vibes cuppa. It won't go off if it stays there until the weekend. ;)

No drinking planned here today. With any luck I'll be getting a smiley this week. :)

    6/10 AFDs please Shaggy.

    Good afternoon everyone,
    10 please Shaggy
Feeling a bit off today, I think it's because I've got my booking in appointment with the radiology department tomorrow and then having radiotherapy daily for 4 weeks from 3 October. It just seems a long time coming and as I have totally recovered from my reconstruction and am trying to rebuild, it is a reminder that treatment is not yet complete.

We are going away next week for a couple of weeks of sun before radiotherapy starts. I know it has to be done, but the reality is sometimes sobering.

I haven't felt like having a drink, probably because I know that when I'm away I'll probably have more than enough. Trying to get back to my target weight before going away too.

    Thanks for listening again.

    Arkers x

Thanks for sharing. It sounds tough and we're all with you in this most difficult of times....
What do we do when we fall? We get up, dust ourselves off and start walking in the right direction again. Perhaps when we fall, it is easy to forget there are people along the way who help us stand and walk with us as we get back on track.

Well, I'm not doing at all well. I've got into the habit over the last week of pouring a drink at around quarter to 11 to watch the news!!!!!

So, Mr Shaggydoo is off on a business trip to South Africa at the weekend, so I'm going to challenge myself to doing 10 days in a row starting from tonight...

  • I am up to 8 for the month and 3 for the SNC.

Sorry to hear everyone's troubles. It's okay to feel bad and to let things slip I think, as long as you just wipe a line under it. No point in putting too much pressure on trying to do everything.

Someone told me that I should just concentrate on one thing at a time, i.e weight loss or no drinking, not the two together. But I'm finding that I'm resisting drink more easily as I want to save my "syns" for my weekend when I can enjoy it with no guilt.

    Good afternoon,

Thanks guys much appreciated. Well, I needn't have worried as the staff were absolutely fantastic. All of them looked as if they had just graduated as they were soooo young, but they made me feel at ease and it was very well explained. Had my first tatoo today too (they put tiny tattoos around the area as a point of reference)!!!! I have 20 sessions to go to which sounds much more manageable then 4 weeks.

Another day for me please Shaggy,11 many thanks.

Love South Africa Shaggy, maybe you could go with him? Slough was as far as I went for any meetings I had!!!
