I swear by Change One Thing but that's radical stuff, when people are tempted to overhaul their lives like setting New Year's Resolutions such as 'Lose at least a stone, stop smoking, give up drinking, do 30 minutes exercise a day, stay on top of the housework.' That's a bit unrealistic if anyone is as slatternly as I am but it never stopped me promising myself I'd do it every year! Basically I'm still working on most things on that list but after 20 years even I know I can do tackle one of them at a time.
A bit of low level self-discipline is a different matter such as to follow Dolly Parton's dietry advice - to get my head out of the swill bucket (I find it surprisingly helpful) - and do five minutes actual housework a day Monday to Friday and walk the dog at least twice. Some days I manage two of those and that's huge progress over five years ago!
So glad it went much better than expected, Arkers.Current news is enough to drive anyone to drink Shaggy .
Quite, especially after doing a bit of 'light reading' of Yellowhammer last night.   Not to get too political, but I don't remember that on the side of a bus.
12/30 please, Shaggy.Better is good enough.0 -
I know what you mean about the age of staff Arkers, although I was looking at some old photos this week and whilst mentally I feel no older, my goodness I do look young!
I agree Pollyanna as I manage to drink less when I am trying to cut down on food too. But reducing food drink, doing more exercise and housework all together is definitely too much.
So - ta dah as I did not achieve this in August - 7/15 and 3SNC - very pleased. Now to try and get to second smiley! I need to do this by 24th as I am away after that. Hope we will all have a successful September, achieved even in current dire political situation!0 -
You made me chuckle Honey bear thinking of all that stuff being on the side of the Br*xit bus. Apparently dentists are treating more cracked teeth because people are stressed about it and are clenching their jaws more.
2/15 for today please.Total weight lost 6.5/73lbs starting yet again. Afds August 10/15. /8 Sept.0 -
