  • Good morning, everyone! Just a quickie, as DH is taking me out for a long walk, followed by tea in a Tiny Tearoom

Made the lumberjack cake yesterday, and it's yummy :j Thanks Pink and Haribo. Didn't manage to tempt in any passing lumberjacks, but I think the street sweeper was giving me the eye

Hope everyone has a fabulous friday!

  • Morning all,

Love Fridays. :D Its very chilly here but no frost when I look out of the window. In fact my African marigolds and Cosmos seem to be flourishing. Wonder how many more days they'll last.

Really must get and do the housework if been threatening to do all week. Apart from some baking and laundry yesterday, nothing much else got done.

So plan today, all the ironing mountain, hoover and mop downstairs, make some chocolate doughnuts for tonights treat and clean bathroom and loo. Actually, looking around I think I need to add declutter the lounge. :o

    Have a good Friday everyone.

Morning all - I'm still in my jammies - oh the decadence.

dd has woken up with a bit of a sore throat and her tonsils are swollen so I am reluctantly forced to take the day off to [STRIKE]lounge about[/STRIKE] care for her - selfless and dedicated that's me! she is lying on the sofa working through her SATS study guides - at school it would be mostly children in need stuff and she hates to be distracted from lessons - honestly she really is that sort of kid.

I spoke to exoh very strongly about the extra money and he has said he will look into it but that his job is very insecure at the moment - this job has been insecure for about 11 years but this time it's different - apparantly  He was supposed to be looking at a houseshare this week but has put the lady off three times - he's just the little boy who doesn't want to grow up I think.

plans today are to phone work and clear the decks to free up the weekend a bit

    have a good day everyone
I'm going to feed our children non-organic food and with the money saved take them to the zoo - half man half biscuit 2008

    Good morning everyone,

Very cold here, looking forward to dropping the children off and coming back for a nice hot chocolate!!!

Children now back to normal after they had a 'chat' to my friend. They came and apologised for being 'mean' to me, and putting their dad first. Friend said she didnt have to say much, she asked them what was wrong, what did i do for them and what their dad did for them, and that she was dissappointed in their behaviour. So after a few tears (all of us) and a lovely big hug, things are ok. So, no more doing what they are told, lots of shouting and arguing between themselves, but lots of love and hugs, so know what i prefer!!!

Just one LO today and he is a baby, so not loads to do - im hoping he will be happy watching me wrap presents so i can get some of those out of the way. Now things are back to normal, i can imagine my 2 searching for anything father christmas might be bringing them!!! If its wrapped, it makes it a bit harder for them!

Hope everyone has a lovely day ((HUGS)) to anyone who wants/needs one,
    Take care xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
  • Morning All

Glad you have got that sorted Catowen

Wasnt Mrs Mrcawber visiting family here in England?

Freezing here as well today - looking out the window everything is totally white - very Christmassy - nice for me though as OH is doing the school run.

Feel out of sorts - was meant to be having a meeting today and going out for lunch but found out his morning that it has been cancelled.

Really dont fancy doing paperwork so think will do loads of ironing whilst watching what ive sky+'d. May see if OH wants to go for lunch but think his kidney stones are starting to play up again.

Thankfully boiler is still working ok but can hear a dripping noise in my kitchen behind a false wall that has loads of pipes in - think will have to call builder - will be a right pain to sort and loads of mess but obiously needs doing.

We are having a buffet use up the freezer tea tonight. Prawns in filo pastry, sausage rolls, egg sandwhiches and anything else we can find - kids love those sort of dinners.

Best be off - have a great Friday.

  • Hi all

Hope this works, it's taken about five minutes for the page to load for me! So not much surfing on MSE for me today :(

Yesterday went pear-shaped for me too! DS2 poorly all morning then he started throwing up at lunchtime so it looks like we have the sick bug, AGAIN. Just hoping that the rest of us don't get it - hopefully it's a return of the one we've all just had rather than a new one. Not sure what I am going to do with them both today, DS1 has no school but they both get bored and grumpy if stuck inside all day. Hopefully it will warm up enough for them to at least have a run in the garden.

catowen, that's great about the kids :)
scuzz, good luck with that flat, sounds like a good one.

Hoping to catch up on some cleaning today, I have a mountain of washing to dry after all the sick yesterday too! Ugh. Better get on with it!

Have a good day everyone and huge ((((hugs))) to anyone who's poorly or looking after poorly people today.

Was up early this morning, DH had to drive DS1 into work as the brakes on his car are not working so we need to get it to a garage today.Luckily DS is stopping in Worcester overnight at friends and can get the bus back in the morning.
Am looking forward to my weekend away in Telford, just me and DH;) am leaving the boys at home but at 15 and nearly 18 they should be able to cope:rolleyes: We have given them dire warnings of no parties etc and my Mum is going to keep an eye on them.We are only away for 1 night.

(((hugs))) to all the poorly ones.

Morning all. Bit late this morning because DH has the day off. He has a very promising meeting with a chap who wants him to oversee a fascinating regeneration project - will tell all if he gets the deal he wants. So, we have had a lazy breakfast which made a change from having to get him organised and out of the house by 6.45am.

(((hugs))) to all the poorly children and grownups. Let's hope the frost and cold weather destroys the bugs. It's beautiful here this morning; frosty but lovely blue sky and bright sunshine. I'm waiting for the WM to finish so I can peg the washing out; dinner is organised - left-over stew and HM rolls and I think I'll get a fresh pineapple for pudding. BM is on and doing it's bit. How on earth did I manage without it? It's been one of the best things I've bought - especially as it only cost £7. It's paid for itself over and over. I'm going to get my food shopping done this morning and call in at the gym on the way home. For Children In Need, we have to wear our brightest t-shirts today and run round the course the wrong way, grabbing a piece of fruit on the way out!

I'm going to try and get some more Christmas wrapping done this afternoon and maybe do some knitting. It helps me stay awake when I'm watching TV!

Well, off now so will catch up with you all later. Haven't had time to read the thread yet so will have a good mooch through it later.

Have a great - if frosty - day, everyone!
