Hi, this is the Daily Thread for Friday 16th November 2007. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything OS and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an OS natter. The more the merrier!
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem, we’re a laid back bunch here so you won’t hear any complaints. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.
Greetings.
I was up real early today and wide awake. No idea why. Just not tired. Work soon, but then a whole 4 days off. In fact I am not back until 5pm on Wednesday when I start a week of late area cover.
Not my favourite as I finish a 2am every morning or later if something happens.
Looks cold and frosty out there again. I need a real good way of defrosting the windows I think. Scrape and peer through the hole is not the best. :rotfl: Most De-icers just freeze on top of the ice.
Most of the kids are sick at the moment. Some sickness bug going about. I had it on Monday and so got that out of the way.
only 4 weeks to our family holiday so getting excited now.
Well folks. have a nice day

Goodmorning N9eav, Amie & all to follow,
I hope everyone who has been ill feel much better today. I mowed this morning. DH has been doing it lately and seeing as he said they had to work tomorrow I thought I'd let him off the hook so he can have a bit of a rest on Sunday. He rang up later in the morning to tell me they're not working. Oh well it was good exercise.
It's come over a bit cloudy atm so we might get showers tonight. DD left to go away for the weekend after work for her friends birthday. Toilet training is coming along really well with DGS. I used the wrong size needles for my knitting but luckily I've got the right ones so will cast on again later on.
N9eav I've heard neat vinegar good to put on your windscreen every night is good for frost. Not that I'm an expert in that dept.
Amie Enjoy your buffet lunch. I'll ignore the remark about my lettuce.
Hope you all have a great day. ByeeeeeeeDon't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia.0 -
Morning N9eav, amie and aussie and those who cross and follow.
I'm not usually up and about this early, but I've just waved off Mr Twit and as I climbed back into bed, I noticed he had left his laptop switched on. So much nicer to surf using a computer that actually does as it is told.
Mum and I are planning a shopping trip to Blackburn market, we both need to stock up on fresh food, so I think I'll do a bit of a list.
I really enoyed my golf yesterday, it was a beautiful morning and not too cold, drizzling and miserable today so I'm pleased I made the most of it.
Work tonight, but only for a couple of hours so I can't really complain.
Hugs to all and hope the sickies feel better soon.

Morning all
Meant to get back online yesterday but my day went pear-shaped. managed to bake a dundee cake for Christmas and get some more presents. My local Homebase have got all thier spring bulbs reduced so I have bought some along with their value pots and will give them as presents.
By the time I had helped out at school and rescued a poorly pigeon, was too tired to study and promptly fell asleep:eek:
Off for a run in a minute. Loads to do before starting work at 1pm. At least it's stopped raining.
Hope those who feel ill get better soon :A xxxx0 -
Morning everyone.
Lots of you up nice and early.
Freezing here also, kids all doing different things today for children in need all 3 boys have non-uniform day, dd has to pay to take a teddy to school, and the 2 youngest boys are selling pudsey biscuits, badges and fridge magnets they made in class yesterday. They really enjoy getting involved.
Tonight we are all off out!!! To a race night in aid of ds3 football club, could really do without it as dont have much spare money this week as dh car in for MOT on sat morning, but kids looking forward to it, so me and dh have said we wont drink so we can take the car and spend more on the kids drinks crisp ect.
Ordered final few xmas presents last night online, had 2 discount codes excepted so got £90 worth of presents for £38 !!!!!!! So really chuffed with that.
Hope you all have a good day off to get something out of freezer for tea later and make the pack ups.

Morning
Totally freezing here today. Thick ice on the car AND the roads - no grit at all:mad:
Went to look at another flat yesterday and fell in love with it. I've put an offer in, so hopefully they'll accept and I can drop the other thing I was buying which has gone on for months and months and months. Fingers crossed.
Might fill up with petrol later or tomorrow as I've two money off coupons to use by next Friday, so may as well use them to save what I can now petrol costs a stupid amount of cash.
Hoping to see a friend tomorrow, going to bingo for the first time ever on Sunday and I'm off work next week:j No internet at home though, so may have to visit the library for MSE, facebook and email checks! How is it we become addicted to these things and the inability to access them seems like a limb has been lopped off
Hope everyone's well and keeping warmComping, Clicking & Saving for Change0 -
Morning everyone,Its ohs last day today then hes got 2 weeks off so no getting up at 5am for 2 whole weeks i'll probably still wake up at 5 i always do but at least i can fall back asleep again till at 7am.
Well my db didnt turn up yesterday he told his gf that he new i would have got ever where tidied up and gotten all the house work done so he wasnt going to come hes just going to turn up with her when i;m least expecting it hes more like a child then a 35 yr old at times lol.
dd has college to day shes meant to get her bus fare back from school but i have to keep reminding her or sometimes she spends it so today i'v given her bus fare but shes taking a packed lunch this might make her remember to get her bus fare back next week sorry if i sound mean but with her bus fare pius extra for break and lunch time shes been getting £7 every frday off me so getting her bus fare back really helps.Shes also admitted theres a microwave in the cafeterria as when i 'v asked her before shes always said there wasnt so shes taking baked potatos that i'v just cooked for her.
