I'm selling at a steady rate apart from the odd four or five day period when it just feels like my items get switched off and I sell nothing. However I am delisting and repricing old stock and listing new stock daily and that seems to keep my turnover going.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. I did come across a very creative seller on ebay, probably gone now as their feedback was appalling who used to post the books open so that they fitted as a large letter...they obviously tended to arrive a little worse for wear though hence the feedback and is a scheme not to be recommended.
 You have to give them credit for ingenuity and 'thinking outside the box'! :rolleyes:0 -
Evening...
Anyone know what happened to the seller forum on Amazon? I went away for the weekend, and it's gone!
AND they don't seem to let me list any of my Lego any more! I had an email saying I had been approved as a Toy seller over Christmas and everything....0 -
Don't know where the link from the Seller Account page has gone, but here is the link:

There's a whole discussion thread on the 'missing button'. Not sure why you can't sell toys if you have received the email, perhaps you can now ask on the Seller Connection board.

Thanks so much for the link, FFM! I would never have found that.
I was just worried that it had all somehow been changed overnight without me knowing - like Donald Sutherland in invasion of the Body Snatchers.
As for the Toy listing problem, I've now managed to email Amazon help - although when I tried last night I had a message something like "this page is invalid"...it was all getting a bit Orwellian.0 -
The link seems to have been reinstated now, by the way...0

Just wanted to say HI. I've just listed my first ever book on amazon (actually my second, but I ahd no idea what I was doing with teh first, years ago, and it didn't sell...). Anyway I'm hoping to make a few pennies before Christmas from a selection of books I have here, especially since Ebay has stopped me from selling my previous line of stuff, which was high-end cosmetics (they think I'm a counterfeiter/theif!). Which, of course, I'm not. I have a perfectly legal source but they're not interested in that.
SO I thought I'd turn to books. Hope to start reading this thread at the top and pick up some tips...0 -
Welcome
I am only a small time seller, my own stuff mostly but I have found I have made a little bit of money quite painlessly....so far at least;)
Reading the posts here has been a huge help to me.. actually gave me the confidence in the first place after reading the really good "how to" post. I hope you find everyonas helpful as I have.
The trick seems to be the right book, a trick I confess I don't always get right. The upside seems to be free listing and low maintenance and good prices for the right book.
Even then don't rule Ebay out...I actually got a lot more on Ebay for a signed book that had been languishing on Amazon for a year..so don't always assume Ebay is a non starter for books esp. if it is signed or a bit collectable and the very best of luck. I have been a bit quiet at the moment although i don't know if thats economic climate or just that as time goes on you just get left with the less saleable books:rolleyes:0 -
Thanks. I'd have thought now was a good time of year for those cookbooks/nice heavy hardbacks that people get for Christmas. The books I sell will be all non-fiction, how does that compare to fiction?0
