    Hi everyone,

just logged into my account to sell some books - but I have no existing listings, no feedback, no past sales, as if I've just logged on today - any idea what might have happened? has this happened to anyone else?

How long have you had a selling account and when did you last check it?

Unless you are a pro seller your open listings only show for 60 days and then expire, but they should still be seen in closed listings if you look.

However if you do regularly log in then contact Amazon and ask them to help. I don't think CS are there today but if you can wait until tomorrow they are usually very good on the phone.

  • Hi Joe

You could try logging out and then back in again, being very careful with your email address and password. This has happened to me in the past and it was due to me logging with my email address slightly wrong - it still let me in and appeared 'normal' except it said I was 'new'.

    Bumped for Suzynick......

I seem to be selling more 1p books than usual - fine with me it clears space and I thought I might eventually have to Freecycle them or something........

Sorry if this has already been answered but haven't had time to read the whole post. I am looking to sell quite a few university textbooks and thought i would try amazon instead of ebay - was just wondering though, when sending them to buyers do i need to send them recorded delivery? or just obtiain proof of postage? thanks in advance

  • Hi Flower08 and welcome to the thread. :D

There is no need to send Recorded Delivery really. You are covered up to £36 (I think) whether you send it 1st Class, 2nd Class or Recorded Delivery. But you do really need to obtain proof of posting from a post office, just in case your parcel goes astray. I do send Recorded Delivery occaisionally, but i don't really need to - my own peace of mind I think.

If you are selling anything over £36 then I would seriously consider using Special Delivery - a bit pricey but you are covered for more expensive items and it is tracked from the post office and not just signed for (supposedly) at the other end.

Talking of Recorded Delivery - thanks to Soolin's adivice I have obtained a few books of stamps for signatures not being obtained and have just sent another batch off too - with a failure to obtain a signature rate of 25% since April. No wonder the Royal Mail are struggling to make ends meet

Hi I have just started selling books on amazon and read through the threads but still having some difficulty pricing some more collectible titles. EG I have a first edition of The Razor's edge - Maugham in vg condition with DJ - when trying to price it Amazon gives several prices with a huge variation from £4 - £400. I have had the same experience with other books. Any advice would be welcome
  • Derms, there are some real 'chancers' out there that do ask silly money for some books - often they do not even have them in stock and will search for them as and when they make a sale. Check the sellers feedback to see what I mean - you will get used to the usual 'culprits' for this.

Anyway, I tend to check out www.bookfinder.com to see where else books are for sale and the prices being asked elsewhere.
