There's something I don't understand about Amazon sales rankings. Often when beginning to list a book there is a completely different sales ranking after choosing a condition and pressing the continue button - its in a box on the right called 'pricing details for your item'. Its not there for every item but when it is it is often [but not always] lower than the first sales ranking often by several thousand. Not sure why the difference or what it means. Anyone know?

    Well chuffed. Thanks again:beer:

Hi Smileykylie - well done on first sale you'll be hooked and it won't just be a hall full of books  they take over the house!!!

There was the same question on the seller boards a year or so back and someone said that the first ranking on the main page was the one including Amazon sales. The one on the actual sale page was the ranking from marketplace sellers only and excluded Amazon sales..but I think most people disagreed with that theory..

  • May be a long shot but does anyone out there have more than 15000 books listed?

Me neither - only just started my work business on there a couple of months ago and currently have about 420 listings.

Oh dear, remember to check the prices when you can. For some reason a book I have had listed for ages just sold at £2 and I thought that was a good price until I saw the only remaining copies going for oodles:

I assume the book got a mention somewhere, or is on a university reading list or something

I did and a few were going for good money, well, not sure if they are going, but they were advertised with high prices,so fingers crossed. I had to relist some as well and had to put a few at higher prices as the competition had upped prices as well. I still don't understand how books can go for hundreds of £££, baffles me as I would never buy a book at that price. But I shall be glad if someone wants to buy my books for that price. :)
