Good morning fellow Slim Jim's. Hope you are all well.

Suki good you are up and about again and managing your pain. It takes a while after a bad fall doesn't it. I had quite a bad fall once on a cruise because of very rough seas and it took several weeks to fully recover. We just don't bounce the same as we did when we were younger.

Glad you are enjoying Liverpool. I keep saying I wouldn't mind a few days there. Lots to see and do.

I'm doing ok, back on track now and have lost 1lb. Slow but steady. Yesterday I did some experimental cooking, using up fridge odds and ends and some yellow stickered vegetables I picked up and which needed to be used quickly. Made a chicken curry and a sausage meatball casserole. Got three generous portions out of each for the freezer.

I have still got a pack of broccoli rice to use to will have that tonight with one of the curry portions. Aiming to go blackberrying later.

Need to do a freezer inventory, spent far too much money last month so need to pull my horns in and reduce my food spending by having a use up month.

Have you got the bean dip recipe please hun? X:D

    I didn't use a recipe I just chucked stuff in! :p

I used a can of drained and rinsed beans, some lemon juice, sea salt, black pepper, garlic salt and some smoky tomato and chipotle dressing (from Sainsbury's) with a splash of water as well.:)

  • Hello again everyone. I am on the other side of the summer holidays, feeling fat and skint :rotfl: but fun ha been had and back to reality now.

Scales have moved in the wrong direction. A lot :eek:my size 16 clothes are feeling snug  so back on points today. Unfortunately it's 11am and already eaten my lunch :rotfl: so lots of water now, and planning on taking the two smallest out to a park after school so won't be tempted by the biscuit jar. And it's pizza and ready meal night tonight (mum used to babysit the kids while I worked and it was te easiest thing for them all to cook as she struggles to get down to the oven, and we have Carried it on) so all points accounted for.

Really have to do this, I am getting into bad blood sugar territory, I do not want to end up on medication.

Am trying to up the amount I walk too, attempting to get the family out and about more at the weekend, would certainly do the husband some help!

Anyway, am here now forthe long haul. Nothing major planned this month, and last month wiped me out financially, so a spending fast alongside better eang habits can only be a good thing :T

  • Well done DAL on coming back to us.

I’m currently sat outside enjoying cafe society in my city. Just polished off a skinny latte and a peanut chocolate brownie. :rotfl:

Mooching round the city. Looking for bargains and just generally window shopping and taking time out from decorating and diy. Feel like I’ve earned a day off. :D

Will call in the market and Aldi on the way home to stock up on healthy stuff.
  • I have been weaning myself off bread the past few days as I really think it doesn't agree with me as it seems to make me feel hungrier after I eat it!

I have been in quite a bad mood and feeling very tired and under the weather almost. I'm not sure if I'm detoxing from it! It reminds me of when I stopped drinking tea and coffee earlier this year.

I will just restrict myself to crackers or the occasional tortilla wrap.

I haven't lost any more weight yet but I woke up today feeling very much better.:T

I've had a smoothie and a few crackers with avocado and cherry toms.

I'm making a nice, hot lentil, mushroom and spinach curry (no rice) for lunch for today and tomorrow. :)

  • I've been chipping away at WW steadily since May, losing a lb here, half a lb there. Really happy that it's now added up to 14.5lb and I got my 1 stone award at the meeting on Saturday. I feel and look so much better, the carb bloat has gone from my face and my work trousers are the next size down. Ideally I'd like to lose another 2 stone over the next 6 months, very happy with my pace and progress so far. Like debt-busting, little and often and let it accumulate into bigger results seems to work for me.

  • So I had no eggs this morning, so ended up doing porridge with Blueberries to try and fill me up. I was exhausted all day, weeks of crap food have not been kind. Once lunch was done I only had 2 points left :( so I looked up a ww sweet and sour recipe whih used a can of diet Fanta, 2sp  anyway I made it and it was lovely and three portions in the freezer :p

I also spent some time on the app community and found some interesting recipes. One was for a 0p chickpea bread, so I gave I a go to have instead of rice with the s&s, not bad. I was pleasantly surprised tbh :rotfl:

And ten I stumbled across a thread on low point mug cakes   so just had a 2sp pudding, cake, ff yoghurt, tsp maple syrup and some fried banana slices. I fear these will feature heavily in my future, much like when I joined a slow cooker group on fbk and spent the next few months soley using the slow cooker to cook cakes :rotfl:

However I am feeling much more inspired, my sister told me about a Chinese chicken recipe using diet coke, am off to Google now :j

    Good morning everyone.......

Hope you are all well and managing to stay on the wagon.

I have lost another 1lb this week. It's slow going but I'm sticking with it. I reckon just another 5.1/2 lb to go and I'll be about right. My blood sugars seem to be coming down again too. I'm both pleased and relieved. Still not quite normal but certainly out of the danger zone now.

DAL....must give chick pea bread a whirl, sounds interesting. I have heard of mug cakes but not tried them yet. You have inspired me to get my Pinch of Nom book out and get cooking. It's so easy to fall into a food rut but I think we stand more chance of sticking with it if we can make the food we eat tasty and interesting. For me boredom is my enemy. If I get bored with my food choices then that's when I falter.

So thanks for posting about your experiments. :D.

I had a bit of a batch cooking session the other day, so now have some healthy "ready meals" in the freezer for those busy or Cba to cook days.

    Feeling confident and positive.
  • Well I can confirm that the chickpea bread is yummy with marmite on. :T

But obviously you have to be someone who likes marmite.......;)
