An elderly

How old is old/elderly?
I want to know if I am at the annoying driver age...
Probably, to someone about twenty years younger.
So a forty year old driver is an elderly to a 20 year old, etc. etc.
Somewhere there's an 80 year old driver saying of another "Look at this doddery old centenarian driving like an elderly!"0 -
pulled out in front of me causing me to have to brake hard, then drove very slowly in front of me for miles where I couldn't get past.
It made me really mad. I was fuming.
How do you cope with these situations?
He did it deliberately to make your day a tiny bit more miserable.;)
Happens to me all the time, invariably when the road behind me is clear as far as the eye can see, and if they had waited just 2 seconds, they could have taken as long as they like to pull out and dawdle along.
Then when we get to the end of the road, they were so shocked by my appearing "out of nowhere" that they then won't pull out of this junction until the road actually is clear, both ways, for 3 miles......:mad:I want to go back to The Olden Days, when every single thing that I can think of was better.....

Yeah, I bet you all smile sweetly when someone cuts you up meaning you have to slam on the anchors to avoid crashing into them, then drives 10 mph below the speed limit on a windy single lane road for miles.
Sure.
No, it annoys me for all of 3 seconds - that someone would rather risk my life & theirs than inconvenience themselves a few seconds.
Then I shake it off and placate myself with the knowledge that driving that dangerously, his insurance is sure to skyrocket if it hasn't already (law of averages and all that jazz).
If they haven't done something downright dangerous then I just shake my head while thinking what a ****ing muppet. You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means - Inigo Montoya, The Princess Bride0 -

I suppose I am old (38) to a newly passed 17 year old :eek:! Like most, I get very annoyed when someone insists on doing a good 10-20 mph below the speed limit- when the road will take the limit. Not much I can do about it though, so I just swear. That, and dab the brakes. I cba to overtake (even if possible on country roads in a 12 year old automatic!).0 -

Sounds like you drive too close to the guy in front. I rarely brake unless I'm actually stopping.0 -
Do you understand what cutting someone up involves? It's an instant fail on a driving test, and is considered dangerous driving. Because it's dangerous driving.
Failing to make progress in the road is another fail.
Some of the older ones on here will never have sat a test.
Just need to suck it up.0 -

That was my mum today!! Honestly, she's 86 and I was driving her behind a very slow car. As I overtook she looked across and said, "It was a doddery old man. They should have to take another test when they get that old!"
She gave up voluntarily 18 months ago when she came to live with me as she "didn't know the roads round here and didn't want to hold up the traffic." Back were she used to live I doubt anyone would have described her as a slow driver, did't suffer fools gladlyLove living in a village in the country side0
