An elderly

Interesting choice of phrase, an elderly. An elderly what?
If there's nothing you can do (stuck behind a slow driver, queue on the motorway, whatever) there's little point in getting stressed. Just winds you up and tends to cause people to make poor driving decisions.
If it's country roads, enjoy the view. All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.0 -

Look into getting some anger management.
:rotfl:It made me really mad. I was fuming.
How do you cope with these situations?
By being in the right frame of mind to drive and it does not sound as if you were.
Anytime you venture out on the road you will encounter other road users of all ages, abilities and differing levels of consideration for others along with varying attitudes to risk. The best way of dealing with all this is to allow for their failings whilst maintain a high standard of driving yourself.
Allowing yourself to get to the point where you were 'fuming' only reduces the standard of your own driving.0 -
Pull over, take a break, read the news, have a coffee....anything to stop you fuming, then get on your way without the frustration of having the elderly in front of you.
How much time did it actually cost you? If you were slowed to say 30mph for 5 miles instead of covering the same distance at 50mph, you lost four whole minutes. Probably about the time it took you to log onto this website and compose your post. What was so vital about that lost time that it got you fuming?0 -
Hey they probably saved you around 15p in fuel due to your reduced driving speed....unless you were in the wrong gear and revving the engine excessively while in your fumed state.0

You may as well just relax and enjoy the cruise. It won't make any difference to the driver in front if you're about to have an embolism or not. If you can't get passed them, then you're stuck there anyway so may as well just take it easy.0

Leave a little earlier and plan your Journey. That way when you come up against a car going slower than you would like you won't get so frustrated.
If you suffer regularly from this sort of frustration then consider a faster car. A fast car can open up more opportunities to overtake safely in this situation. Nothing like an angry man in a fast car to make for a great combination.0 -
Yeah, I bet you all smile sweetly when someone cuts you up meaning you have to slam on the anchors to avoid crashing into them, then drives 10 mph below the speed limit on a windy single lane road for miles.
Sure.0 -

Sure.
If it was that close then slow down a bit on this windy single lane road to avoid this happening in the future.0
