OK, I will keep trying then. Not sure how to answer the killer question differently though.
  • How do you apply for this?

    Thanks

Hi all. I past the test today and I am now on the waiting list for a start date. Does anyone know how much they pay? I know AQA is 30p per answer, is it something similar?

You have more chance of getting accepted for AQA, plus it's a better service.
I passed textperts and not aqa

I passed the killer question (which is different for most people, rarely the same single question) at my first attempt.

When approaching it, I thought about what sort of answer I'd want, if I were paying a quid for an answer. It's not enough just to answer it by saying "that's impossible" or similar, people don't pay for the obvious. So I think it helps if you're informative in some way, try to demonstrate some lateral thinking in trying to make something sensible out of what may be an impossible-to-answer question. Entertaining - that is, witty as well as informative - I think goes a long way.
  • I passed after an hour and a half of trying - took me a while before I realised in two minutes per question I could simply google the text answers and use my calculator for the maths ones. :) Like the peopel above though, I am on the two month waiting list - presumably they have to train the last lot first?
  • Passed both AQA and Texperts but like most others, I was told by the latter that there was a delay of a few months for training. So...I signed up with AQA and I'm just about to do my introduction etc. I love this sort of thing so while I'm aware it's not an 'easy buck', I'm thoroughly looking forward to getting started.

I have a full time job (also involving research!) which I love but I'm hoping to save up a deposit and buy a flat next year...so this is where my wee extra job comes in. Just gonna set up a new bank account and pay in anything I make, then try my very best not to spend it on something daft like that Mulberry Roxanne I've had my eye on for MONTHS...heh.

Also looking forward to being miss popular when it comes to picking pub quiz teams! Just think of all the weird and random things we'll learn! Good luck to those who are applying.

Right, I've taken this test 3 times now and I just got 84.85% overall and that was a fail mark!! What score do I need to pass?
Also I only failed in two sections.

I think you just have to pass each section, 75% at least in each I think.

Oh OK!! Thanks alot for that. That should be straight forward enough. My trouble was they kept giving me massive massive sections of text to read, and I got too impatient and skipped chunks out!!
    Will try again...
