Has anyone joined the group on Facebook? It's not exactly full of contented people right now. It took me literally about 50 attempts to pass the tex-factor - after getting a really tricky final question the first time around while the second I found easier - and it's demoralising at the moment because all they seem to have done is sent e-mails to those that pass saying it's unfortunate because we can't predict when the next training round will be.
Both my girlfriend and I applied to AQA and failed on single occasions each, I know they say it's worth it if you can get into any of these and they can't just take anybody on but there's times, because of the responses you get from them, where you feel what was the point of even trying. I sincerely hope either AQA begin another recruitment drive (I notice they aren't looking for UK workers after inspecting the site today) or that Texperts hold a training round soon. I wish I was naive again...0 -
Just did the Texpert quiz to keep my brain occupied really. Some interesting information for the people out there, though I don't know if this relates to AQA's policies, here's the results of what i've just done on the Tex-Factor:
General Knowledge - Music100%PassGeneral Knowledge - UK Geography100%PassGeneral Knowledge - Football100%PassThe Basics - Fun With Numbers100%PassThe Basics - Speakin' the Queen's100%PassRead It and Weep68%FailResearch100%PassTotal96%Fail
I've just got 96% (really should get out more I suppose), and not even got to the final question. When I passed the Tex-Factor I don't remember getting anything like a score that high. Hope this helps anyone who may be thinking of taking it.0 -

I think a pass in each section might be 75%0 -

me too theamazingduck! i just wish they would give some sort of indication of when training will start!
i also applied for aqa but failed the first time. when i passed their test the 2nd time, they told me that their records show i had already applied for the position previously and had to wait 8 months! b****rds!
i really, really hope texperts training will start soon!0 -
I am another one who did this texperts test and didn't pass but I only took it in the first place because when I enquired about working for AQA, they said you have to have a degree (?!) and I don't have one. Do AQA really only take on graduates? That seems ridiculous to me. You are only conducting internet searches and I don't see why a degree is necessary for that. I realise that people with a degree might be considered by AQA to be superior to non-graduates, but if someone with an English degree (who might be hopeless at science, for example) gets asked a science question, they would have to rely on internet searching to get the answer - they wouldn't just "know" it. So I don't see why us non-grads can't work for AQA - we're just as capable of using search engines lol. You'd think you were applying to work at NASA!0
