Rose, have you tried a cooling gel pad on top of your topper. DH & I are opposite to you, he gets too hot on the topper so I got him a gel pad and he’s fine now.

STS please Cranky I've not done much dieting this week so it's deserved, I started the challenge well but seem to be in a slump at the moment. Not helped by electrical issues which means the only power in my kitchen at the moment is the fridge freezer, the electrician is due out tomorrow.

Rose when I brought my bed a couple of years ago the young guy was trying to sell me a memory foam mattress and the woman sales assistant about my age interrupted and advised against it as I may find it too hot. We then had to explain to the young guy why :rotfl:

Food wise started off good but unfortunately declined

B - fresh fruit - banana nectarine, kiwi, strawberries
L - beef ragu and pasta followed by a pear and apricot
D - fish and chips - I was going to have quiche and salad but it's too cold and wet for salad and I cba to move the microwave into the dining room

  • Hello all,

Can I follow along with you all? I have a wee amount (cough a whole person cough) to lose and need to just get my bum in gear and I'm hoping moving my diet over to a more simple homemade version will help a lot. I normally weigh in on Monday so will post my weight then and see how we do :)

Hope everyone has had a good week and the bank holiday was enjoyable (mine was. Far too enjoyable ).

I have lost that pesky pound (-1lb) from last week so I'm back on track. I hope. I have 5lb to lose in this challenge so I think that's about a pound a week.

Hoping for a good week this week, nothing to stop me apart from myself! Right, off to meal plan and drag the DSs round the supermarket.

Have a great weekend all of you!

Checking in with a 1lb.gain. Not happy with myself and I know I deserve the gain. Had a silly eating week and couldn’t seem to stop myself.
I’m going to draw a line underneath it and get on track again this week .
Why do I do it to myself ?

    Evening Everyone,

A quick post as I've got to go get ready for work shortly. It's been a DGD day today. This morning we went out for a walk through the woods and this afternoon we went to see Aladdin, so had a lovely time, with lots of walking too.

My mattress topper has made a little bit of difference but am still getting far too hot in bed. I have let the carbs creep up a bit this last week or so and I think that has quite an effect (plus adding to the weight gain!!) so I'm back to trying to keep them well below 50g a day. Hopefully, that will help.

Lunch: Cheese and spinach omelette. Plum
Dinner: Yellow fin sole with peppers, broccoli, peas, green beans and Hollandaise sauce.
Snack: Piece of smoked mackerel which needed eating up.

0 for me again this week.

I've hurt my back/spine so cannot be as active as I normally would; hopefully it will sort itself out soon as it's starting to get me down x
