Perseverance - Small tcb cashout and tfr to hol fund.
Reduce - Book which I finished reading went to start a new CS bag. 4 tealight holders added to it. Unwanted beanbag offered on freegleOld schoolwork of DS2's to recycling. Torn trousers of DS2's waiting to be turned into shorts
Invest - things have left/ are leaving - declutteringDid some weeding (although not much - too hot for digging!) to help improve the garden

Hi all :j
Simplicity - think about the simple pleasures in your life which you really appreciate, friendship, family, cake. Focus on those this month as much as you can (maybe not too much cake though). Simple pleasures of a family meal - at lunchtime - and some time outside in the greenhouse before it got too warm. Several bits of cake inc hot cross buns may have been eaten
Persevere - I know that trying to reach your goal can sometimes seem never ending but try to remember that each time you waste money/time it can take you further away from what you really want for the long term. Cleared out some of the dining room, have condensed DDs shopping to just the 5 bags still in there..
Reduce - I wouldn't be me if I wasn't asking you to reduce. Think about what you really need and what will be left at the end, is there a better way to consume. Used up the leftover takeaway for lunch although I did make a further dish, which is itself now leftover. Toasted a roll for tea which has been back & forth in DDs lunch bag a few times - it was fine. Chucked 2 carrier bags of waste paper from office.
Invest - in yourself, your family, your home - the things that really matter to you. Clearing & chucking out.
New - new month, new beginning. Don't look back at past mistakes and failures, there is nothing that can be done about them, learn from them and move on. Rarely look back - & when/if I do it's as if that stuff happened to someone else, which of course I was then. I'm stupidly optimistic..
Grab - take life by the horns. Do something which takes you outside of your comfort zone at least once this month. Now making a new sweater that is definitely out of my comfort zone. Let's see how that goes. So far so good, but only on the first sleeve. More challenges to come.
NSDs: now 10/15
NO spending in coffee shops, work canteens, vending machines. If you do it needs to be planned in advance and budgeted for. Never go in coffee shops, no canteen, don't use vending machines either. But I still waste money! No spends today.

Jojo - congrats on your LO school place!
Dolly - Hope the new job gets better
Sorry to everyone that has hayfever, I think DS may have it as when we were out yesterday his eyes were watering and he woke up a bit snotty this morning.
Simplicity - Spending time with DS and our family
Had a lovely day with DS yesterday he was so good and so well behaved bless him. He wasn't happy this morning though when new child minder come over but when I left he was laughing with her playing with Iggle Piggle. Tomorrow having a BBQ with the family.
Persevere - Goals are to pay off CC, pay off Argos card and pay off Sofa this year
Been finding giving my cards up to be quite hard but I know I will get there and I'm hoping it'll stop me buying random snacks at work lol.
Reduce - Will make sure as soon as a washing load is done I take it out of machine instead of leaving it and having to wash it again. Try and put washing on the line instead of in tumble dryer. Make a meal plan to reduce our food waste and shopping list for the same. Using a shampoo bar now once liquid soap and conditioner is gone will be using bars for them too When shopping try and pick up things in no packaging or recyclable packing.
been trying to recycle as much as I can.
Invest - Make sure the house stays clean and tidy and I stay clean and tidy haha put some make up on every day (if going out) and have more "me" time.
Making sure I put a bit of make up on each day to make me feel a bit better.
New - stop beating myself up about being in debt and get myself out of debt.
Grab - thinking of applying for a new job
NSD - 8/12

Thank you for the comments about my new job, it is only a 3 month contract and some of you may remember me hating my last contract initially then I loved it in the end. Temping is not my bag.
Have been out and about today, messing about by the river in our favourite town. Bought burritos and dahl for lunches and ice cream, also spent £5.50 in the charity shops on 3 items one of which was BNWT and marked at £19.99.Debt Free and now a saver, conscious consumer, low waste lifestyler

Sorry to hear that it is hayfever time again, I know you really suffer.
Aww, thanks, don't worry, will soon be November:rotfl:
My courgettes have started to sprout, they were all growing upside down (I had a poke about and found 4 upside down) I had planted the seeds on their sides so this would not happen. They are now known as Australian Courgettes. I have one tomato seedling. Just the one, but one is still success. Cornflowers have all sprouted up outside too. I will have flowers in the back yard.
Plenty of laundry drying on the line, happy kids, just relaxing a bit this weekend.4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

Was a spend day yesterday. Went to a health shop and got some cider vinegar. Was tempted to get some aromatherapy oils that were on special offer. I already had some in and that needs to be used up first.
Walked to/from train stations. Went to a Church service up London.
Today was an NSD - 11/15.
Walked to park to walk the park run. Then walked into town to pick up prescription and took a gentle stroll back home.
Managed to do a small bit of housework.
Had nice chats on the phone with my brother and sister.
Enjoyed the weather.Frugal Living Challenge 2025 Mortgage free as of 1st August 20130 -
Not spent ant money. Took books back to the library plus some things for the charity bin. Weddingy things (dress, shoes, jacket) and the boots mum gave me to the children's hospice bin, one pair of old trainers to the recycling point (helps buy wheelchairs for sick children) and carrier bags to Ymca. They have an appeal for more stock so large wooden farmhouse chair, small fridge and large wheeled shopper will go to them + another bag of carriers (must have put it down when I put my lunch in to cook whilst I was delivering all the other stuff).
Tried to get the things to the YMCA but no-one was very keen - too hot after you have been round the town centre catching pokemon. DS2 came and took the cube shelves I emptied downstairs.
I knew what I wanted doing next but couch potatoes would not budge. Did get DS3 to finally empty the dishwasher and DS3 and the visitor to collect cans and bottles recycling and rubbish and made DS3 go all the way to the bin with the 3 pizza boxes found after I'd taken the rest.
Have filled the dishwasher (few spaces to fill before it's set off) and am cooking the leg of lamb for tomorrow. Going to gather up all my stuff to take to mum's and will go before curfew (door alarm goes off). Packing for about 5 days, was going to stay until Tuesday tea time as mum has an appointment early Tuesday but mum's partner died on Thursday evening, so there may be extra things to do or she may want me there.
Today I am grateful for getting things out of the house, for having a plan and a half-hearted commitment from other people to do some of it, for glorious weather even if it does make me sneeze. My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage0 -
Chocolatelover -good that you left your son and childminder laughing together. Such a relief. Good luck with your job application.
Dolly - does your job fit around all your exercise?
Mothernerd -so sorry to hear about your mum's partner. Hope that all the upcoming arrangements go smoothly.
F0xh0les - Ozzy courgettes :rotfl:
Today I am grateful for dh's eyes not changing much, for dd doing more clearing out, for getting 2 more bagfuls to the Sally Army, for Father Brown and Murder she Wrote, for sewing up mice and fox ears, for my workout and subsequent shower.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
mothernerd - sorry to hear about your mum's partner - I think it was only a few days back you were saying he wasn't well?
NSD - still 7. Bought some food and DD a pair of shorts (all of hers are at uni) and DS3 a pair of shorts (discovered he only has 1 pair and no hand-me-downs of the right size....)
Simplicity - Spent much of day in garden - used another full tub of fence paint up - getting there! Have 2 more full tubs left - may just about get around all remaining panels - but will need to get more for better coverage. OH cut all the lawns, DS1 dug up some weeds and OH also dug up some old woody lavender and rosemary (have cuttings) Sold a bag of clothes (DS3) via fb00k and gave away a pouffe and a beanbag via fb00k and have advertised a big item and have more than 2 dozen ppl interested!! :T Smaller 2 helped with various bits in garden (eg watering, burning weeds, bit of mowing and even the hedge trimmer) and DD cleaned out g-pig hutch before going out this afternoon with friends - they've clearly made a night of it as she is still out! Plans tomorrow are bbq in forest with friends - too hot for a roast lamb dinner!
Perseverance - some more excess has left and small amount of money to hol fund.
Reduce - Torn trousers of DS2's turned into shorts and he loves them :T Torn jeans (indecent!) of DS1's into recycling bag - will take with other items to H&M for £5 voucher - which will put towards new jeansGarden and g-pig waste all in green bin. 2 items passed on for free - glad someone else can make use of them
Invest - more space cleared. (more)Fence painted, lawns mowed, some pots planted up - garden looks better for itI am the master of my fate; I am the captain of my soulRepaid mtge early (orig 11/25) 01/09 £124616 01/11 £89873 01/13 £52546 01/15 £12133 07/15 £NILNet sales 2024: £200 -
Hi all :j
Simplicity - think about the simple pleasures in your life which you really appreciate, friendship, family, cake. Focus on those this month as much as you can (maybe not too much cake though). Watching an old film tonight on TV with DH, not really my thing but he was keen.
Persevere - I know that trying to reach your goal can sometimes seem never ending but try to remember that each time you waste money/time it can take you further away from what you really want for the long term. Shopping bags added to in dining room as DD & I popped to Aldi at lunchtime & lots of reductions - don't think they are open tomorrow.
Reduce - I wouldn't be me if I wasn't asking you to reduce. Think about what you really need and what will be left at the end, is there a better way to consume. Had 3 breakages today, my solar light fell off the fence & smashed, the showerhead fell onto the shower floor - and smashed - and the hose reel connecting thingy also broke off - could have been because I yanked it.. Fixed all of the above, only one purchase (shower head) necessary. Still fuming..
Invest - in yourself, your family, your home - the things that really matter to you. Much more clearing needed as just realised going away in about 9 days, need to get sorted.
New - new month, new beginning. Don't look back at past mistakes and failures, there is nothing that can be done about them, learn from them and move on. Rarely look back - & when/if I do it's as if that stuff happened to someone else, which of course I was then. I'm stupidly optimistic..
