Gosh, I hadn't even thought about Easter shopping! I bought dd a gf/df egg choc bunny several weeks ago when aldee had them in.
Today I am grateful for my home, for safe travelling, for the blossom on the apple trees, for all of us getting some sleep, for the washing machine, for making a yummy tea, for my knitting, for having an 8-week plan, for having had a simple time away.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
mothernerd - Will try my best. Sadly it is my mh/grief/catching up with sleep. As long as I wash the dishes and put them away each night which makes me feel not stressed in the morning.
apple - Glad that you had safe travelling home.
Was a spend day. Went to my favourite shop and spent about £134. It was things that I needed. Got more jeggings, 2 pairs of shoes, bras and another pair of trainers. Also got their luxury hot cross buns as a treat. Also went to another shop and got baking trays and a roasting tin. Used points on the loyalty card so no money spent. The ones I had in needed replacing. Have binned the old ones. Also did a small food top up shop.
Posted my nephew's birthday card and cheque. Cannot believe he is going to be 18 next week.
Chased up regarding my prescription at the chemist. Also chased up about the grief programme as there is going to be a follow up session and I requested a copy of something that was read out at the last session.
Had a nice relaxing bath and going to chill out for the rest of the evening.Frugal Living Challenge 2025 Mortgage free as of 1st August 20130 -
Finally managed another NSD, I'm now on 6/15.
Still painting, all top cabinets (inside) now have at least one coat on. Was at it for a good 6 hours today. Looking forward to the end now, but it's still a long way away.
OH is practicing with his band tomorrow night, so my aim is to get up early, put third and second coats in the cupboards before 10am and work on cabinet doors. OH will get home around 5/6pm, have dinner, and be out again until 10pm latest so that should give me time to do some more in the evening. I have bought this worktop transformation kit, which I might start in the evening. It's just plain white, and hopefully looks much better than the white/brown faux marble we have at the moment. Can't use worktops until 48 hours after all three coats for 'light activity' and full week before I can pop microwave etc back. Trying to do it when no worktops will be less of a hassle. Friday is OH birthday, so I'm guessing we'll go out for a meal or something and Saturday we are out in the evening and OH pretty much all day so it seems like that should be the best time to do it.
Having a hot bath tonight as I ache everywhere. Had a lovely dinner though, used up a sorry looking aubergine for dinner with Quorn moussaka. Also managed to get through 3 loads of washing, although it's all piled up on the dining room table because I couldn't be bothered to put it all away!February Grocery Budget: £190.75/£350.00

Hi all :j
Simplicity - think about the simple pleasures in your life which you really appreciate, friendship, family, cake. Focus on those this month as much as you can (maybe not too much cake though). Visit from friend, she was a little sad as she had to have one of her dogs put to sleep, he was 13. We had tea - and cake - and I can now say with certainty that Bettys Fondant Fancies do freeze...she was happier I think when she left.
Persevere - I know that trying to reach your goal can sometimes seem never ending but try to remember that each time you waste money/time it can take you further away from what you really want for the long term. More cutting down of trees this morning, think it is at last starting to look like we have done something.
Reduce - I wouldn't be me if I wasn't asking you to reduce. Think about what you really need and what will be left at the end, is there a better way to consume. Made filling for pie with bendy leeks chicken & a bit of bacon, had leftover pastry to use up as well. Didn't make it today as DD messaged to say she was not coming for supper. There's tomorrows food now done. And she brought home the remains of the Chinese meal she'd shared with her friend as they couldn't eat it all & friend was going to 'throw it away' There were 2 full portions of fried rice, one of sweet & sour, one of beef & half a chicken dish...plus a bag of prawn crackers.
Yikes.
Invest - in yourself, your family, your home - the things that really matter to you. Investing in home by licking the outside into shape, then the inside.
New - new month, new beginning. Don't look back at past mistakes and failures, there is nothing that can be done about them, learn from them and move on. Rarely look back - & when/if I do it's as if that stuff happened to someone else, which of course I was then. Looking back a fair bit lately but that's just family history.
Grab - take life by the horns. Do something which takes you outside of your comfort zone at least once this month. Now making a new sweater that is definitely out of my comfort zone. Let's see how that goes. So far so good, but only on the first sleeve. Still a WIP.
NSDs: now 9/15
NO spending in coffee shops, work canteens, vending machines. If you do it needs to be planned in advance and budgeted for. Never go in coffee shops, no canteen, don't use vending machines either. But I still waste money! No spends today.

apple - glad to hear you are back home safely.
I am having an induction today for the new job. DH is cracking on with the loft, we spent money yesterday on coathangers and some little hanging rails with a cover in Ikea, they were £10 so we bought two and these will store our overflow of clothes which we do wear but haven't room for in our wardrobe. I refuse to spend any more money on storage for stuff so if it doesn't fit in these it goes.Debt Free and now a saver, conscious consumer, low waste lifestyler

Apple - Glad you enjoyed your time away.
Dolly - Good on you for being ruthless! Something I probably need to start doing too
Yesterday was #8 for me.
No plans to spend today, either. Although I could be doing with some humous to use up the celery I have which will go to waste! Tomorrow, I recon.0 -
Morning!
Today is kids football session this afternoon, and mucking about in the house. Two kinds of seeds have sprouted - sunflowers and livingstone daisies - all the rest are being shy, in their recycled veg tray containers.
Going to prioritise cleaning the ground floor today.
Yesterday I used my satnav and went to the other side of town (out of my comfort zone) for the kids kit thing. As we passed the bouncy trampoline place they mentioned they wanted to go to it, so will see if I can find a voucher somewhere and put it in the diary.
Also need some essentials, so will go food shopping but will set myself a £20 budget. Just cos really. I work well to a limit.4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

NSD - still 7. Spends at L1d1 and Tesc0 today
Simplicity - DS1 helped me with chopping the top height off a tree in the garden and then getting the branches small enough to go in garden bin. Took DS2 to get his new glasses and DD to give blood - she was fine there but went almost grey on way home, so we bought emergency cookie and Luc0zade and she's not doing anything at all for the rest of the day!
Perseverance - Got the top of the tree off - that's part of my house-and-garden plan
Reduce - Only things bought were food and drink and a small bunch of flowers from L1d1. 3 bags of things dropped off at CS (only 1 bag was mine, rest from sister) and 2 bundles of outgrown clothes advertised on fb00k - 1 is hopefully being collected tomorrow morning
Invest - work on tree, courgette and tomato seedlings and getting rid of things to CS/ fb00k mktplace.I am the master of my fate; I am the captain of my soulRepaid mtge early (orig 11/25) 01/09 £124616 01/11 £89873 01/13 £52546 01/15 £12133 07/15 £NILNet sales 2024: £200
