Couple of teeny spends to add. Car has gone to the big scrapyard in the sky, so the search is on for a new one. Proving harder than I thought to find something semi decent for a grand :(

Doom_and_Gloom What did you have in your Buddha bowl? Always looking for inspiration as I love a good bowl!

elsiepac - the Buddha bowl had rice, tempeh, edamame beans, sprouted beans, sweetcorn, broccoli, carrot, kimchi (home made), a bit of sriracha mayo and some nori sheets.

OH forgot butter yesterday, we have spent £1.74 today; butter, romaine lettuce and tomatoes.

I'm having a Buddha bowl for my dinner tonight again as it's so easy. Rice, broccoli, cauliflower, carrot, pepper, sprouted beans, vegan mince, tempeh, maybe some pumpkin seeds etc. Basically anything I can fit in the bowl that I have in.
For dinner OH is having pasta and cheese sauce.

    £159.93/£180.
    £20.07 left.

  • Hiya, £31.08 at Ald! yesterday. That's very likely to be my last spend of this month. Signature updated. I'm slightly ahead of a third through the annual budget, not much, but quite pleased with myself, esp as it includes booze and any eating out of the house! tada!!!
A bit of grin and bear it, a bit of come and share it
You're welcome we can spare it, yellow socks

Declaring at £224.73 so £22.23 over budget - absolute best month I've had in ages, kept track all the way through and not crazily over budget. Happy with that!

I've just spent another £7.30 which brings me up to £76.43 for the month. I may need to spend a bit more on Tuesday but equally, may not.

Will have to do a second month of £80 but after that I hope that things will be getting easier. When I moved to London in 1991 and got my first proper paid teaching job I celebrated by raising my food budget from £20 per fortnight to £20 per week. Has food got cheaper or was I eating luxuriously?

Afternoon everyone, lovely April showers happening today!

I'm going declare at £285.40/£300 and NSD 18/15 so I'm well chuffed with that!
That's for 4 adults breakfast, pack up lunch and evening meal. No alcohol included generally.....although I have included £15 worth of booze that I bought last week for a party. I've also eaten out a few times but that comes of of the EF.
I was originally including cat food in the GC but my furry friend now has to have specialised food from the vets which will come out of a different budget so that may accout for me coming under. A very large stash of cat food has now been donated to the RSPCA.
A small shop done yesterday, about £7, in Mr m's when I went in for a tin of dried yeast (and omg that has gone up quickly in price! ) but I was seduced by several other goodies including some fresh mackerel on offer:D. A bigger shop done today in Aldee £55, but that includes a lot of stuff for May.
Puddleglum....I think food has gone up in price, but being the savvy msers that we are, we enjoy hunting out the good bargains :D
Thank you Elsie for running this thread. I will be joining for May but will reduce my monthly budget and increase my NSDS. ......oooooh I love a challenge!
See you on the other side everyone x
  • Eeeek.. a spend today that has taken me over budget :( oh well..
Will do better next month! ;)
