Currently at £206.80/£300, so quite please as only a week or so left.
Getting used to not needing to buy so much, have lots in the freezer and a good stock cupboard. May do a full tally/stocktake and see what’s needed and what’s not!

Hope you have a speedy recovery! You really were suffering with it so I hope this will sort it out for you. I'm impressed they have a vegan menu! And I guess at least you aren't spending whilst in there? Bright side... :D

Lost post but just wanted to say that at £273 I'm £13 over, but this includes socialising, over £33 on Alcohol partly as gifts/contributions to meals and being 3 people for 2 weeks, so basically I'm not celebrating but I'm kind of ok. Might to squeeze down to 250 next month. Happy Easter :-).

£10 today on things I can add to things to make meals - salsa, bananas, yogurts etc. And some nuts for snacks.

I am holding back a little bit because we have a vegan festival next weekend and I want at least £20 left for nice treats!

That's Easter done and dusted. Hope you all had a good break :j

I was surprised to find a yellow sticker bonanza going on in Mr S this afternoon. Only spent £11.34 and should be able to make it most of the way through the week.

    Best wishes

Lovely Easter weather! Hope everyone's ok.
Through March and April I've tried to do weekly shops on a set day. It hasn't worked very well. Sigh.
Previously I would let the fridge run down, and shop when I couldn't scratch any more proper meals together. When I am eating here on my own I go for easier stuff and stretch my shops out as far as possible for ease and economy, with less regard for 'proper' meals, as long as I get all my food groups in.
Now I'm shopping weekly it seems to come round too quickly, I always feel like I have overlapping foodstuffs, it's more effort, and it seems more complicated to meal plan including the stuff that's lying around.
I feel all at sea! In May I'm going to go back to the old way I think. I suppose it was worth a try. Everything's worth a try!
A bit of grin and bear it, a bit of come and share it
You're welcome we can spare it, yellow socks

Long story short, I did go to the pub with my friend and got first round so ended up having to spend £4.70 (I just had tonic) but then after a major panic at home I remembered my sealed pot so basically I've emptied that and so had £6.96 to add in for groceries.

Few small spends to add - £2.16 in Mr T for a cauli, bag of carrots, 3 onions, YS Spinach and YS Coriander and £3.48 in A1d1 on their own brand Pulsin bars, cucumber, broccoli, red and spring onions plus a couple of other incidentals.

Have prepped to my hearts content - I did a massive inventory on Good Friday and planned what I could make with what I had/could get with my limited budget. I've eaten well all weekend and this week for lunches I have roast carrot and parsnip lentil salad with lots of fresh parsley, and for dinners I have Sri Lankan cauli curry (recipe off the A1d! website) - this is all until Thursday as my new GC starts Friday.

Things I've eaten included French Onion soup (I mean, it's probably nothing like French Onion soup, It's my version of it, but I love it), southern fried cauliflower bites (using a seasoning mix I had in the cupboard from Mr T), salad and tofu rolls, and 2 roast dinners - one on Easter Sunday at my parents, and the other was leftover from that which my mum gave me and was enough for a whole new roast the next day!

I know I'm over my budget, but seriously, this is the first month in probably 6 months where I've kept accurate records and this is definitely the smallest overspend because of it. May's goal is to come in on budget but it's be a bit easier as it's exactly a 4 week month for me.

I failed miserably. I stopped tracking early on, and things got out of hand.

Am back on board though, and looking to try again for May.
