Next Step Beauty - Be aware of your money!

I recently had a very bad experience with Next Step Beauty, registered company as Beauty Education Ltd.
Briefly the story is, I applied and paid for a nail tech course that supposed to held this March.
Than without clear notice, the Next Step Beauty cancelled it just 11 days before the course start, due to lack of students... (now I know, why no students apply to their courses...😏)
When based on THEIR cancellation I requested my money back, which was £474, Next Step Beauty refused it with two ridiculous reasons:
1. I should have cancelled the course for moneyback 14 days before the course start
2. They sent me a link with online material.
Of course Next Step Beauty’s excuses do not stand against the fact that 1. Next Step Beauty cancelled the course 11 days before its start, so of course I fall out of the grace period.
2. I never logged in their student portal therefore never downloaded anything from the link they sent me.

They offered me that I can make the course online instead the 3-day practical course or I can apply again for a different date - I refused these because of two reasons: a.) the online course and the practical course are not equal at all.
b.) no guarantee they will not cancel the next course as well ,furthermore I paid for the March course and not for the April course with a reason.

After all, I sent to Next Step Beaty an email with official money request and of course no response since than; however email was received on their side, I have their automatically generated ticketnumber.

I made further legal steps and Trading Standards will act on my behalf and if they are not going to pay back my money, I will go till the small court, accusation and even to ombudsman if needed.

Be aware of Next Step Beauty, they do not care you. They want your money only!

I will keep you updated in regards of the outcome.
Consumer Advice Beureu already acted and made further steps to contact the Trading Standards. I heard, they helped already many people to get back their money from Next Step Beauty!

I heard this happened before to few people, that Next Step Beauty refused to pay refund and they had to go legal...

Wish me good luck, I will keep you updated!

They have just changed their address from Norfolk to Ipswich.
Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')

No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)
  • Yes, thank you for the information.
I have sent registered letter to their new address, to Ipswich.

Nobody should pay for them money only on the first date of the course, they did this unfair practise so many times before to too many people.

I will definitely not let them walk away with my money and fortunatelly I have all the legal support and sources to squeze them out!

I suggest to everyone, who ever lost money with them to do the same, go to Trading Standards, because you can get back your money from them vis legal way!

In addition to that, if you go into the "Appointment" records you can obtain a THIRD address. Sadly, it isn't their personal property and appears to be another business address...

I would personally send a letter to ALL THREE sites.

Also maybe look to see if you can find one of the director's home address...

Don't send letters signed for, they'll probably refuse them. A certificate of posting from the PO is sufficient, and first class is deemed to have been delivered 2/3 days after posting.

Somebody will be along soon with suggested wording for a Letter before Action. Some very knowledgeable people hang about on this board OP so just hold on a while.

would it be good if everyone else , from now on, , liaised with the same consumer advice, or trading standards. Which one would you suggest? Norwich,Norfolk?
  • I contacted with Customer Advice based in Ipswich on 12.03.2019.
Than Next Step Beauty changed their address on 14.03.2019. to Norfolk, so letters will go there, too.
Customer Advice suggest to send out a second letter (I will do so and to all the three address) before legal action.)

    I am willing to make an accusition as well, next week I will be in London, so I am planing it;
they will not pay unless legal action is set and I know I am going to win!
They do better to agree with me, otherwise I grab their nuts at the court for sure.

Every help and support is very welcomed and thank you so much for all of your help!!!

I am a mom and this money is a big cut in our household, I just can not afford that these sneaky people steal the bread from the mouth of my child!!
I will fight like a mother tiger.
  • That would be really great, I am waiting for it.
    Thank you so much. :A
